Unless you are Butch you cannot "guarantee" Butch's motives when he approved all of the football uniforms you will see. You know Butch is huge on tradition, hence Team 117, 118, 119, etc. Then there's your own comments about the tradition Volatil and I referred to relating to the black usage.

You're right I can't guarantee. My bad. Poor wordage. I just do not see black as being unique to our heritage. Butch is thoughtful but also forward thinking. We don't have to sell it to anti-gray-jersey people as a throwback IMO. It's a good look and that in and of its self is enough.

Barnes is going to do work recruiting TN as a Nike school with this gear. Interesting to see how bball recruiting will be finally as a Nike school

I personally like everything about the new orange and white jerseys other than the pants. The stripe into the checkered pattern looks a little Big East to me. I really hope the regular white helmets don't have the checkered pattern on the back.

For those that don't care for the new Smokey Gray, they will probably only wear them a couple times a year so you won't have to see them that often.

I just feel like it is a recycled concept personally. Take Kentucky's basketball shorts or even their football jersey's, they have the same checkered look on them.

The checkerboard endzones are obviously a known commodity at UT, however I feel like they are trying to over do it a little with these pants and shorts.

JMO and I will pull for the Vols regardless of what they are wearing.

In all honesty, these unis aren't designed with 40+ year old fans in mind.

These are for the players and recruits.

Not saying we should go full Oregon by no means but they sucked before Nike started the uniform experiment in Eugene.

Just told my UGA coworker about the smokey mountain background on the helmet. He responded that UGA helmet will have Jackson County state pen background... Lol

I heard UGA has their indoor field in their helmet. Literally.

The white and the real smokey grey must be the best ones as those haven't leaked. If you watch the swoosh video from the day before those are the two being teased as well and it's clear that it's a true smokey grey jersey and not that odd black and silver grey looking uni.

I love the smokey mountains in the helmet. I really hope that the alternate is different. I'm not a fan of that picture
