You'll love them. There's much more character development and backstory. The books are also more brutal. It's just much more rich, imo. I've heard that HBO will be different in terms of Jon Snow's origins but that's not the only thing.

When you're done don't miss the novellas!

Under the Tales of Dunk and Egg (so far) are:

The Hedge Knight
The Sworn Sword
The Mystery Knight

Then there's:
The Princess and the Queen, or, the Blacks and the Greens
(Just look for the The Princess and the Queen)

AND:

The Rogue Prince, or, the King's Brother
(Likewise just look for The Rogue Prince).

Pretty much all of these are published in anthologies and take place well before GoT BUT if you're google-wise you can um 'find' them. :)
Spot on...love the show, but hate that they turned a lot of it into soft core porn. The books do have a lot of sex, but it is not glamourized like in the show. It is often depicted as ugly, perverted and brutal. I would say that is the reason a lot of people like the show better. The books are just so much richer..and just so gritty and brutal. Like the Dark Ages really were

Yeah I do agree there. Obviously there was tons of prostitution and what not but there's sometimes too much sex and nudity only to appeal to men. Sure they're great to look at but it feels like it gets in the way of the story sometimes. That's literally my only complaint about the show

Cheers:hi: This is our lives right now...

Ha. No doubt.

My two oldest ones pick at each other so much that we really can't leave them alone in the same room for an extended period of time. Good times.

Tennessee has never seriously pushed for the "set the record, fill Neyland in the spring" idea though. Sure, they encourage fans, but these other schools really push it hard.

If Butch ever really wants to see it done, Volnation will

I think UT does pretty damn well for the lack of success we've had the last several years. OSU better fill that stadium. I mean they just won the NC. Bandwagon fans are coming from everywhere for them lol

Sounds like we have enough of a gene pool to start arranging some Volnation marriages. You know.... So we don't have the peeps marrying outside the faith. 😀

It's not gonna happen with so many of our key guys out.

That's exactly right. Many will not go with so many players out and no clear format communicated to the fans ahead of time of what is going to take place .

The average fan, who you need to fill Neyland for a spring game, will not go to watch players go through drills. A fully-stocked roster with a real game is what they want.

We'll be lucky to have 40,000 there.

Apparently he was getting reps as a starting CB during UF's spring practices.

Personally, I don't think he'll be dismissed. He showed up, bailed, and then turned himself in. UF will handle it internally. They still have VH3, Quincy, Tabor, and Poole anyways. They'll be fine with or without him.

Unless he was the one used as bait to get the door open, which is what it sounds like. He should be dismissed if that's the case.

247's spring position grades for UF's defense:

DT: B+
DE: B+
LB: B-
CB: A+
S: A-

Looks like they will be stout again, with the secondary being exceptional. Although I think those grades are likely a little inflated given the abysmal nature of their OL this spring.

Gameplan: short passes from Dobbs and heavy, heavy running from Hurd/Kamara/Dobbs. On defense, let Barnett and Maggitt pressure the hell out of Grier/Harris and our DBs lock down their WRs who will have virtually no time to get open. Oh yeah--go for it on 4th down in the red zone. Every. friggin. time.

Will be a close game at the half, but we'll outrush them significantly for the first time since 2001 and win by at least 2 TDs.

There's a moment before the ball is snapped, when Alvin Kamara and Jalen Hurd find themselves in Tennessee's backfield together, that the two former five-star running back prospects make eye contact.

Without saying a word, they know what's going through the other's head.

"I feel a little spark when we get in the backfield together," Kamara said after Saturday's scrimmage at Neyland Stadium. "Because we kind of look at each other and we're like, 'Yeah, OK.' "

"We just know that we have each others back," Hurd added. "We know that whenever we're in a big-time game situation, we know that we're looking at each other and we know that it's on.

"It's on us," Hurd emphasized. "We're going to have to do it."

"Jalen, he knows I'm good. I know he's good. So we just push each other. We get more results," Kamara stated.

"Both of those guys want to be the guy and that's going to make us a lot better as an offense," Gillespie said. "It's exciting to watch those guys on the field. Exciting the way we can build things around both those guys to put them on the field at the same time."

Also, a Tennessee football game in the fall is a state event. More like a regional event. Fans come from all over, including west TN, which is a 5-6 hour drive. I go to at least one and maybe two games a year, but I don't plan a weekend around the spring game. Maybe I will do it someday when my kids are older, but I usually spend the money for a meaningful game.

That said, I would think we would have more than 40k. Maybe I am not in touch with the East TN fans, but I would guess 60-70k.
