@Vol_Football: JONES: Mike DeBord has great background in the offensive line and having that extra set of eyes on the position has really helped us.

I don't think Sutton gets the respect he deserves bc he's not flashy with interceptions and sweet returns. But he's still a top cb in the nation.

He's a very flashy player. Big hits, big break-ups, nice picks as well. He just plays for Tennessee. That view of us changes this year. Had he played in 2000-2005 he would be an AA here.

How do you guys think Butch will handle DE recruiting this year?

It seems like these are some of the names we are seeing the most, obviously more names will surface, but I'm wondering what you guys think the # will look like this year and ideally who would be in your perfect class.

Janarius Robinson - most wanted imo
Josh Brown - NC
Khalid Kareem
Chidi Okonya
Emmitt Gooden - will he qualify
Caleb Roddy - pushing for LA this cycle
Xavier Kelly
Koron Crump

I'd like one of Robinson or Brown to go with Kareem and Okonya and one of Gooden or Roddy. Interested to hear some other takes on this.

Huge hit against OK that got a decent amount of publicity, but we got beat pretty bad so no one cared.

Think the other thing that hurts Sutton is they kept him on the same side of the field. Opposing teams would simply move their best receiver. I'm excited to see what he does this year when they let him move and cover the best guy on the field.

SC fans say the same about Adoree.


LSU believe their DBs are the best.

I just find it interesting that VHIII gets so much name recognition and so many accolades even though the Gators have struggled just as much as we have lately. Ramsey and Vonn Bell play for NC teams and Adoree is an athletic freak at USC, so of course those three will get the hype.

But Sutton is completely disregarded by the media. Seems strange to me.

question about Orange and white game: Butch is great, but one thing I haven't liked is his set up of the orange and white game.. (I think I attended his first year)

In previous years, we came, everyone went in and you stood in line for autographs. Jr. Vols got special privileges-- The kids enjoy meeting Smokey, etc. You came early and stood in line for autographs. With Fulmer, the newer players were hanging out on the field. With Dooley, the players were put in different categories.

I never got in the autograph part of the OW game with Butch, because they only allowed a certain amount of fans in. Are they still doing that? If so, it's not very kid friendly, considering I don't know many young children who will happily stand in line five hours (with few bathrooms around)..

All comes back to the precollege hype, IMO. VH3 was a 5* and Sutton was a 3*. I'll be interested to see which ones gets drafted higher.

Reminds me of a conversation with a Hokie yesterday about the Bristol game.

Him - Tech's gonna have a big advantage on defense because of "player name"
Me - Who's that?
Him - What?! How do you not know about him? He's a lockdown corner and gonna be all ACC.

As much as I hate to agree with the gator there is some truth to what he says.

VH3 has lived up to the hype outside of that show Cooper put on him. Not many top 5 players coming out of HS have done so.
