I don't care about flashy plays. I want him to lock down one side of the field and that's what he does.

Absolutely, he's a great tackler in space and is great in coverage. No knocking him at all, but unless he makes more top 10 plays he probably won't get the recognition we're hoping he does.

My original post was that he's a top cb in the nation but doesn't get recognition bc he doesn't make that many flashy plays. People argued with me so I said "show me".:hi:

I think VH III and cam are both elite and I would take either in a heartbeat.

VH III gets the national love more.

Still hard to believe Cam was a Doofus recruit. He was a 3* so maybe not so surprising lol.

Who do you guys think was/is the best Doofus recruit?

Am I missing anyone else? DD had some good guys in his first class that were EE's also and was fortunate to keep them bc of the timing of kif leaving and him being hired.

Imagine asking this question in a couple of years with all the studs Butch is pulling. List will be quite a bit longer, I'm sure.

I noticed that alot last year teams don't go at him a whole lot.I think he would have even better numbers if he hadn't had such a great freshman year.Plus we had Coleman who always got picked on

This. Cam suffered from the lack of an equal partner on the other side of the field. Opponents ran and threw away from him whenever they could and that limited his opportunities. That is why most of his hits came in the middle of the field or down field, when others had been beat, or on blitzes. When they did run or throw on his side it was often misdirection plays trying to put him on an island by himself. But he always owned that island so they didn't do it much.

Just because you don't buy an argument doesn't mean there isn't substance. You can win this argument in your head all you want, that doesn't mean you're correct though.

Coaches don't sit around waiting for ESPN Top Ten to come on to find players. You can best believe the scouts know who Cam is and know his abilities. Just because the media isn't hyping it doesn't mean he doesn't exist.

Guess I'm just not going to over hype him. He's a great corner, but to say he lays a lot of big hits and makes a lot of flashy plays isn't true.

IMO, Hunter pre injury was the Most elite talent of that group... Then CP/Cam
