Why work as hard as you do to get a Preston Williams or a Josh Malone into the program not to even give them an opportunity to make a play in a game this big?

Their starting corner was suspended. The other starter was hobbling with a back injury and clearly limited. Yet Butch is still terrified to put any pressure on them or make them have to stop us. Makes zero sense.

We let Florida off the hook. When a team has a weakness you have to attack it relentlessly. This offense is too stubborn and set on their pre-game plans. The developments in the game pointed toward Florida being dangerously vulnerable against the pass, yet we don't even test them. Not at all. Until it was too late. And then it worked!!! Bahahahahaha I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

meanwhile Florida, with a young QB who was hurting along with a bad OL were calling intermediate passes that allowed their guys to make plays after the catch. They have less skill talent than we do.

I agree 100%. Recruiting will suffer as opposing coaches will hammer us and the playing time/rebuilding pitches will start to grow stale. Next year Butch would essentially be a lame duck coach. We're just digging a deeper hole by not cutting bait this year.

they did alright actually. We were playing a soft ass coverage that doesnt do our pass rushers much help. We were 8-10 yards off them. Its hard to get to the passer every snap when all you have to do is hit the WR 7 yards down the field bc hes wide open. Cam Sutton looked like he wanted no part of playing in todays game. Really alarming.

It's ok guys. Butch is just setting up the roster for Gruden and Peyton to come in and lead it to a championship......... Only thing that could make this pain all worth it

Dude was like a rock star walking onto the field in Nashville. I dare say he will hear some boos soon if not Saturday.

I was at the game and I thought the kick was good. So shocked to see the refs waiving it off.

Also the wind really had just picked up as a storm was approaching.

That was a great kick and could have been epic.

Look guys this is the way I look at it. In order to have a great program, whether it be football basketball or whatever sport, everybody at the University has to be committed to it. The AD board, the president, the AD, and the boosters.
We have the AD I believe that wants to win and the boosters. But we have a board and president that couldn't care less. All they are interested in is how much money it brings to the academic side.

Let's face it. Butch was about as underwhelming a hire as we could have made. We all thought we had caught light in a bottle after we saw how relentless his recruiting is. Now it appears he may be way over his head from a coaching/scheming standpoint. I'm really not sure we will make a change nor should we unless all parties are on board to make TN football what we all want it to be. I lowered my expectations when it was obvious to me that the University was not serious about fielding a championship level program.

I agree. Again, I could change my mind if we see a big turnaround. However, 2016 doesn't stand to be a big recruiting class for us one way or another. If Butch continues to choke, we'll likely lose some commits anyway. Bringing in a better coach after this season could salvage and/or reinvigorate our 2017 class, which will be much more important.

And we'd be bringing in someone with a lot of talent on the roster for an immediate turnaround.

It looked good on TV as well. Violently cut right as it got closer to the goalpost.

I disagree. We played a lot of press coverage tonight. Except on 4th downs when we primarily played vanilla zone. In any event, the DL didn't get near the push they should have against what was expected to be a bad OL. We are down Maggitt, which obviously hurts. I think our DL unit is a lot more average than it is good at this point.

We have absolutely zero plays that ever end with one of our receivers running with the ball in space. All of our short passes are reliant on the WR making at least one defender miss. It felt like Florida had plays all game long that put our d in tough spots where we had to chase them down.

What a waste of talent. This is worse than Dooley not giving the ball to CP enough.

We have like 8 receivers that could make an impact and none of them are in any way apart of the game plan??? Nobody? Why not just run the triple option?? Might be more effective at this point.

played off the WRs a whole lot too. DL wasnt that bad though. Foreman and Moseley, now they were bad.

Wanted that for more than just a Tennessee win.

AM is a Wilhoit kicker. James is his hero. That's why he wears 25. Wilhoit hit that 51 yarder to beat Florida 30-28. How ironic would that have been?
