And how does one do that when they aren't allowed on the practice field?

I was talking about the game field (where Martinez isn't either, since he's in the box) uhhh? Lil buddy? GAs and QC coaches are ALLOWED on the practice field...hate you had to hear it from me.

Rich rod makes me about 1% nervous. Don't see what all the worry is about, its south Carolina, a program like Mizzou that made its living on a down sec east....

Rich Rod would be worse than some I've heard mentioned, and better than others. Defense, or lack thereof, was the main reason he didn't pan out at Michigan. Pretty sure Butch would have the edge in recruiting. And we run the same offense.

Honestly, no matter who any of our SEC brethren hire, I'm not nervous. Our talent will be able to do its talking on the field. We don't have to rely on the possible impact positive or negative of a new coach to beat the other teams in the East.

Dooley has destroyed their confidence. Our team has elite talent. It wasn't a coincidence that we were controlling other elite programs this year. We weren't just competitive we should be in the playoff talk right now.

Meh, they've regressed at Arizona and he isn't going to out recruit Butch. He would certainly improve their offense, but he hasn't had a defense anywhere he's been. I'm not really worried about South Carolina for a fee years anyway. Their roster is maybe the worst in the SEC and it is going to take them a while to recover.

Ummm....regressed? Granted this year was a disappointment at 6-6 following a PAC 12 South championship. They lost their starting QB Anu Solomon for 4 plus games and Scooby Wright for most of the year.

He took over a dumpster fire that Mike Stoops left when he was fired. He's definitely done a good job at Arizona.

Not a great fit but he is from West Virginia and does have a vacation home in South Carolina/Georgia.

Anybody think if Martinez becomes DC at the U and Strong fires his DC Vance Bedford at Texas, we would go after him as DB coach? I think he was DB coach at Michigan when Debord was OC there.

QC aren't allowed on the practice field that's the point

If I am wrong on that then I stand corrected.

Same with you?

If South Carolina were to hire Rich Rod which I sure hope they don't- I can't help but wonder how in the world do they get Lou Holtz, Steve Spurrier and now possibly Rodriguez when their roster is currently not stacked with talent and they don't have the tradition, facilities, etc that Tennessee has, yet we had to scrape and scrap to hire Derek Dooley???!!! And Butch at the time underwhelmed most so us, granted I thought we were getting Gruden so there's that...

You really thought he wouldn't have a new job by then?

He said that he asked to coach in the bowl game because he wanted to spend as much time as he could with his players.

It was even portrayed on SECN as the "anti-Spurrier" move and Georgia was going to support it.

Carolina roster is garbage now that they lose the three OL and lose cooper, moore and the others to graduation. Its gonna take a while.

RR called and asked for our job the night before we hired CBJ. Had only been at Arizona for 1 year and Hart didn't want to Kiffin them...

Hate you has to hear it from me but you are wrong my friend.

Here is the quote:

"The quality-control coaches can only help the full-time coaches scheme up in the film room, McGarity said, but they're not allowed to be in the film room with players, or on the field for practice."

Fair wasn't allowed to be in the film room with our players much less the practice field. That part surprised me

Really? I never heard his name mentioned. You have to wonder the names that are thrown out there in these searches- how many are truly interviewing and how many are just put out by agents looking for a pay increase. Still hoping USCe hires Muschamp.

Good on you bruin

It does seem like RichRod is looking to leave as his name keeps popping up with other searches and if he called us after only being at Arizona one season.... Really don't want him in the SEC. Any word on Missouri's search?

Easy to say that when your agent has 10 interviews set up for you.

I'm sure he was genuine, but I'm surprised people thought that was realistic.

Sorry if already asked/discussed....

If Martinez goes to miami to be with Richt, are there any of our commits/targets that might would follow him?

Namely, what about Osborne? We need him to stick.

Disclaimer: not trying to stir up or anything. Legitimately asking.

Man Georgia fans are cracking me up...

"I know we fired our perennial 9+ win head coach, but that doesn't mean he should immediately find other gainful employment at a school that will be recruiting the same areas we are 😤"
