Leave him suspended for how long?
Until you find out the truth. Until he messes up again. Until you feel like he's been punished enough. Until you kick him off the team. Until there's less of a media 💩 Storm on the hill.
Just saying you don't automatically reinstate him because this girlfriend of his decided she didn't want to press charges anymore.
I put this in the ff and wanted to see you guys opinion
Ok the worst case spot PR wise is about to happen it seems.
What should cbj do if this girl says she never intended to press charges and recants her story?
IMO the press is going to eat us alive if that happens and he is allowed back on the team
Agreed but it's not that simple
But you also can't expect jones to interview witnesses. That would be a huge no no concerning the climate of the lawsuit.
I'm not panicking. This is all just speculation at this point. However, yesterday I thought we had a five man DT rotation of Tuttle, McKenzie, Johnson, Vickers, and O'Brien. That's championship caliber talent and depth right there.
Now, 24 hours later, 40% of that rotation is suddenly very questionable. If Tuttle and Johnson are both out in 2016 (again, no one knows that will be the case ATP, so purely hypothetical), we're looking at replacing them with Picou (who probably still has a long way to go to be an SEC-ready DT IMO) and/or a converted DE or OL. You can try to put a happy face on it, but if things do shake out that way, that's a MAJOR drop-off from Tuttle and Johnson IMO. I think it could mean 1-2 additional losses.
I understand how you feel. These types of issues aren't new unfortunately. In fact, I know a few stories from players in the 80s-90s that would make the hair on your neck stand up. Difference then, no internet and instant media.
The media we have now outs everyone in a bubble. I feel the same frustration. VN and stuff is fun but all this access comes with a price. Sometimes ignorance really is bliss. If we didn't care it would not hurt as bad. I feel several of us myself included care and focus on it too much. I want to see championships with good representation. Hopefully these guys will figure it all out. Go Vols.

Last night I posted a quick blurb after the Alexis Johnson arrest about how the incidents of this nature make it harder for me to be a fan than anything else that proceeded those events. I was quickly eviscerated, somewhat unfairly, I might add by flowd with a real snappy "Well... Bye..." gif. Here is my rebuttal and a clarification of my comments.
This is the 9th incident that I can count in ~18 months where a football team member or recent graduate has had an alleged incident with a female victim that was either A.) sexual in nature or B.) violent in nature. As much as I disagree with the current Jane Doe lawsuit and the wide net it has casts, I have to say that there is a disturbing trend in Knoxville.
The UT football program has handled each incident the way that I feel it should be handled and immediately suspended any party alleged to have committed any wrongdoing. The sheer number of incidents, however, gives me pause. I don't know. I'm sure I'll be fine by August or so. It's just disgusting as heck right now.
I would love it if my child gets to have the Tennessee Volunteers as childhood heroes instead of having them be childhood precautionary tales. Maybe the same stuff went down when I was young and I just never heard about it. It seems like it's been pretty bad the past year and a half or so. I don't have all the answers, obviously. I wish we could go back to simpler times when the good guys wore orange and the bad guys wore red. I won't ramble any more about it.
