Once again, Clay Travis proves that if you are going to come at him, you'd better not miss. He has destroyed about 6 people now with nothing but the actual facts.

My favorite thing that happened was when Kluwe said Clay was ignoring that Shaun King was black. Clay responded with no the fact is that his birth certificate listed a white man as the father. Clay then tells him that he offered Shaun King $20k to do a DNA test to prove he is half black, to the charity of his choice, which of course King refused. Kluwe told him he was lying and had no proof. Then Clay starts scream what more proof do you need other than the birth certificate.

If you get a chance to listen it is glorious.

According to Johnson's attorney on twitter (not sure why he is tweeting), the accuser has decided not to file charges.

To be clear, this is not necessarily the end of the case. It depends on whether and to what extent she cooperates with the prosecutors.

Very common for domestic assault victims to be reluctant or change their minds about prosecution. The State often has to encourage or intimidate them into court if they feel the juice is worth the squeeze so to speak.

Last night I posted a quick blurb after the Alexis Johnson arrest about how the incidents of this nature make it harder for me to be a fan than anything else that proceeded those events. I was quickly eviscerated, somewhat unfairly, I might add by flowd with a real snappy "Well... Bye..." gif. Here is my rebuttal and a clarification of my comments.

This is the 9th incident that I can count in ~18 months where a football team member or recent graduate has had an alleged incident with a female victim that was either A.) sexual in nature or B.) violent in nature. As much as I disagree with the current Jane Doe lawsuit and the wide net it has casts, I have to say that there is a disturbing trend in Knoxville.

The UT football program has handled each incident the way that I feel it should be handled and immediately suspended any party alleged to have committed any wrongdoing. The sheer number of incidents, however, gives me pause. I don't know. I'm sure I'll be fine by August or so. It's just disgusting as heck right now.

I would love it if my child gets to have the Tennessee Volunteers as childhood heroes instead of having them be childhood precautionary tales. Maybe the same stuff went down when I was young and I just never heard about it. It seems like it's been pretty bad the past year and a half or so. I don't have all the answers, obviously. I wish we could go back to simpler times when the good guys wore orange and the bad guys wore red. I won't ramble any more about it.

I put this in the ff and wanted to see you guys opinion

Ok the worst case spot PR wise is about to happen it seems.

What should cbj do if this girl says she never intended to press charges and recants her story?

IMO the press is going to eat us alive if that happens and he is allowed back on the team

I understand how you feel. These types of issues aren't new unfortunately. In fact, I know a few stories from players in the 80s-90s that would make the hair on your neck stand up. Difference then, no internet and instant media.

As a UT graduate, I choose not to let the actions of idiots define my perception and love of my university. Just my quick 2 cents.

Leave him suspended. Butch needs to find out as much as he can about what happened.

The girl in the Paulk case never pressed charges and he never rejoined the team. Unless this girl comes out and says "I made it up" I don't see AJ getting reinstated anytime soon.

What if she says the physical stuff was all play fighting and then it was just a rough verbal altercation after that?

Would that be good enough you think?

It's a tough spot no doubt

AJohnson has prior law issues, he can go pound sand IMO. He didn't deserve the benefit of the doubt when he put on the Orange after those.

I don't want him to play for my Vols. Recanted story or not. You blew it.

If someone will confirm he indeed had those previous arrest I will 100% agree with you

If not I don't

Not sure why it's not reasonable. The police report reads close to that

I just don't see that happening. Not pursuing charges is one thing. Recanting your story and admitting you lied about it is another.

I'm not sure if I'm on the same page with you. I don't see anyone changing their story. That would be unusual.

Fair enough

Except that's exactly what happened to Jonathon Taylor at Bama after he'd been dismissed from the team.

It's there Bruin, I finally found it today. One of his hearings was a parole/probation violation from a previous case. If I recall, it was possession of a controlled substance, failure to abide by the complied consent law, and some kind of license infraction.

Ok. I am done with benefit of the doubt for sure then
