That's why I said I wish Julian Assange would become interested in taking down the Alabama football program and the NCAA. I'm sure there are some interesting emails in those offices. Because I am afraid Saban is far from retiring. So this corruption is going to keep going and going.

Best player since....???

At Tennessee.

I think he is better than Berry

I'm not ready to go there but by end of season I may put them together. Berry was legendary. Fans chanting his name. It was incredible. If we only had one loss like we should then Barnett would have needed serious Heisman consideration. Barnett may find himself a top 5 pick.

What???? Man you sound crazy. Why were we preseason Top 10? I guess the talent without these ridiculous injuries wasn't there. East should've been over with last year.

I don't sound crazy. Talking this team up like they are the patriots is crazy.

1. Overall - we simply don't have the talent to win a national championship yet.

2. You don't rebuild from FCS level talent to National Championship talent in 3.5 years.

3. We don't have the horses at DT.

4. Offensive line isn't good enough overall, especially at tackle.

5. Secondary outside of Sutton isn't good enough to be considered national championship caliber.

When you are talking about being a national champion, you don't have this many question marks. We play in the SEC. We don't get to show up twice a year and go 11-1 or 12-0 like the other conferences.

This team winning the east and going 10-2 will be great.

Than a 2 loss Tennessee who wins the SEC?

Debatable, but I would tend to agree if you exclude the conference championship game. He did say "ATP."

If we were to win out and win the SEC, I think you could argue we'd be one of the best, if not the best, 2 loss teams in the country. A win against Bama in the SECCG would speak huge volumes.

I know they claim the championship is the biggest criteria but I have a hard time believing 49-10 will be pushed under the rug without a rematch. I know I damn sure would vote Bama getting in at 11-1 over us at 11-2 if A&M beats Bama this week if I was on the committee.

Ohio State was clearly the best team in college football last year and had they got into the playoffs would've won it all. They slipped up in horrible weather at Lansing and were left out.

They had 11 dudes taken in first 2 rounds. If they can be left out for not winning their conference championship then anyone can.

Depth/Injuries could be another point (possibly in place of a couple of yours). It's always an unknown, but we'd have big injuries to positions with arguably the least amount of depth. Our last two games have exposed it.

Yes they got left out but there really wasn't any real debate for who was taken over them. None had 2 losses is the key

Shoop said Quay Picou & Kyle Phillips played most of the second half at defensive tackle after taking zero reps there in practice last week.

Shoop: I told the players we're on the 5-2-5 plan. Start 5-0, lose two and win the last five.

Shoop: We want to build a championship culture, and Saturday showed us we're not there yet.

Shoop: The "life lessons" we've learned from this season through all the injuries and close games are exciting.

Shoop: The App State game was like a 3-14 game in the NCAA tournament. We knew they were good.

Shoop: Winning minimizes the problems and losing magnifies the problems.

Shoop: We've lost to two top-five teams but we can still win the East and see one of those teams again.

Oklahoma got in with a loss to Texas. I think one could debate the hell out of that

No debate at all. Records were the same so conferecne champion trumped OHS and put Oklahoma in.

Would OU have gotten in had Tenn held on and won that game? IMO they wouldn't not have and Ohio State would have gotten in over them

Well said Ziti.

Interesting comment by a Shoop on strength and speed training. We have all brought it up. It appears to be confirmed with that comment.

If Picou nor phillips got reps at DT that is bad coaching.
Alexis Johnson was out and obviously O'brien was out. They should have planned better than that.

That was my first thought.

But what my first thought should have been was "Don't listen to anything a coach says."
