Strange question of the day: Is Appleby or Del Rio the better quarterback? I've only seen Florida once this year, but Appleby has significantly better stats.

Just curious for anyone who has seen them more than me.

Thought we were facing the better QB when we beat them...nothing to change that thinking. Gator fans propped themselves up with this narrative of stealing a hidden gem...instead of a guy who couldn't win a starting gig elsewhere.

From what I have seen Del Rio is more consistent, with a low ceiling. Appleby is the better passer but can go into a shell and just start sucking all over the field.

The difference between the two isn't a game changer either way IMO. Games aren't decided by who plays QB for the gators

Words you never thought you would say after week 2:

We can stop Bama's run game if we shift to a 3-4 with Mosley at nose tackle and Barnett at MLB.

Appleby surprised me in the Tennessee game (though our secondary isn't killing anybody). I just figured there must be a reason the Gators keep going back to Del Rio despite the better (though fewer) passing stats from Appleby.

I also figured it could be the competition. Appleby is significantly better in completion percentage and TD-INT ratio.

It always has..when you lose has always been a big deal. Michigan lost to a suck team, they deserve to fall. Clemson lost to a suck team, they deserve to fall. Late losses, especially late losses to inferior teams, have almost always spelled doom. It should be that way, the season changes the complexion of teams. Sometimes injuries cause it, sometimes chemistry is disrupted by other things. The should be justly penalized for playing like pure crap against mediocre teams, just like we were.

It has in the AP poll but that doesn't make it right. A loss is a loss, whether that was in September or November. Michigan has the best resume of any 1-loss team and should be ranked the highest out of them. Comparing our fall in the rankings to Michigan is apples and oranges

They clearly live off their defense. I just wondered why Del Rio was better given the stat differential. Stats tell a story, but they don't tell the whole story.

Think about that...a loss is not just a loss. If you don't lose a game all season, and lose in the SEC championship, you are not the SEC champ. If you lose in the playoff you are not the NCAA champ. WHEN you lose has always mattered in CFB, and it should be that way. Some teams get better over the course of a season, and other teams get worse. It matters how you're playing at the end, not the beginning.

Do we have any other walk-on DTs, outside of Bain, that can maybe help in the middle?

I'm thinking about going over there and walking on. You've seen me. I think I could pull it off. I'd be good for a play or two. Then they'd have bring the ambulance out, not the cart, maybe land the helicopter mid field. Probably just a backhoe and dig a hole.

Lol..I don't think I could move out of the stance. I'd just fall over on my face.

Ray Lewis out here quoting non existent bible passages. What is this world coming to? Everybody mad about something every day. It offends me sir that you just added a verse to the Bible!

Del Rio is slaw period. Appleby is easily the better option. Del Rio is a gunslinger with a water gun for an arm. Lol

You never have much gray area in your posts, but it is appreciated. :)

Thanks for the input.

Del Rio's completion percentage is worse than Dobbs, and his TD/INT ration is even worse than that. Florida better hope he gets better because that defense doesn't look like it will.

I have no idea what you're talking about, but I always turn to Ray, Chapter 16, verse 31-37 in times like these.
