I wasn't debating right or wrong and am no fan of frivolous lawsuits. But the company in mention is a behemoth and have the resources to maintain their wares adequately. If you bought a mattress and they didn't fumigate and seal as they're supposed to...(I know his source was a couch) and you get an expensive infestation of biting blood suckers that reproduce faster than cockroaches? Your first response would be for them to fix the problem...obviously their management tried to stiff arm him and he didn't go away...they paid him to. I'll assume they picked up the expensive tag of treatment which involves throwing out other items. Initial 4-5 hour chemical and dusting, covering salvageable mattresses with bedbug proof sheets and multiple follow ups. Did too many of them in my pest control years and they're hell on the families. One of my customers got her infestation from a rental center...never learned how her outcome played out, but she was newly divorced, three kids, transferring in to her new job with no local family. Just wanted to rent a living room set til Christmas...ended up with her kids all sleeping in her room while we eradicated the source of their infected bites in their rooms. By all news sources she fed her family and wasn't looking to deprive others, but they were fighting her line by line as of the end of the treatment.
Hence my personal interest in this story. :hi:
