Martin and Sutton are going to condense the field so much.

From a pure talent standpoint, ive not ever seen a Tennessee Vol defense with this much talent.

Anf ive given it a lot of thought

It is and this is RBs best secondary ever at Tennessee talent wise. Sutton should go down as the best college CB in Tennessee history with a senior year on par with his Soph. year. He's been a stud since he hit campus.

Or maybe the o-line gets better at pass protection and his receivers get better separation?

Its not like we've had great pass protection and receivers running wide open that Dobbs keeps missing.

Once he has a huge season this year, people like you will act like he vastly improved and your criticisms were valid when the reality is its the rest of the team improving and Josh always had it in him but never got a proper chance.

Yes we have, and yes he has. Do you do drugs? If you don't see the deficiencies in his throw game, I don't know what to tell you. Look at the UGA game last year, before we made the comeback. Hell even look at the drive that Josh Smith scored our first touchdown. IF Pearson does not fall down, that ball is incomplete. If Smith does not contort his body, that ball is WAY behind Josh Smith. For you to act like Dobbs is accurate causes you to lose credibility.

Well same thing can be said on earlier drives where he dropped dimes and WRs dropped them in the redzone. Both sides have to pick it up(Dobbs and the WRs). And I hope he's not throwing to a different set of dudes every week either.

And then what did he do afterwards?

300 yards passing. 100 yards rushing. 5 TDs.

Its amazing to me that even in the best game of his career, you find a way to criticize him.

I got a newsflash for you bro, even Aaron Rodgers is inaccurate on some passes. The moral of the Georgia game is NOT that Josh struggled with his accuracy to start the game. Its that if given a chance, Dobbs can fight thru a rough start to have a legendary game.

The Georgia game proves MY POINT that Dobbs can be an elite passing QB if you stick with him.

The other starter was Willingham I thought. Maybe I'm wrong but I remember Berry and Vinson as the two starters that were freshmen.

Vinson didn't start until Mid October or so. But he went the rest of the way as the starter. If he hadn't got kicked out our 08 secondary would have been Rogan, Vinson, E Berry and Morley. It would have been absurd.

If you look at some of Dobbs' misses the last two years, they are to the safe side of the field. I think the coaches have taught him where to miss. That can be a hinderance because I think it causes him to think about it more.

There may be some games this year where they may be just as cautious. As long as we don't turn the ball over and create short fields, we will win games. If Dobbs can just hit 5-10% more of his 20+ yard passes, we will be in good shape.

Does anyone know what his 20+ completion percentage or even 15+ was last year? That is the only weakness he has. I don;t go back and watch games over but it seems like on his longer throws he doesn't put enough air under it a lot.

I didn't say it would 100% happen. I simply said it wouldn't surprise me if it did.

I think you're just hearing what you want to hear rather than what I'm actually saying.

It would 100% surprise if even ONE of them is the first CB off the board. Sutton can be but lots of CB talent coming out next year and he has weaknesses.

I'm sure I'm in the minority but I actually think Martin may be a better pro. Cam is as solid as they come but Martin is a freak athlete and has a huge ceiling. If he takes advantage of the coaching and avoids injury or any off field BS I think he has a very bright NFL future. Just my opinion.

I agree with you on the athleticism aspect. Cam could easily have a 10 year NFL career at a place like Pittsburgh, Seattle, and other places that like really physical corners.

Well done again by ClayT. Hard to believe this just went away

And a good last line by Clay as well

@ClayTravis: As Kobe Bryant's career comes to a close, isn't it amazing that no one is writing or talking about his rape case? https://t.co/XNwOizJ4Y3

Cam healthy is nasty though. Martin is more athletic but Sutton ball skills are great too. Watch his Soph Highlight video. Plus he's an elite return man.
