Heading to Knoxville this weekend with my dad and my sisters two sons. One is 9 the other is 6. This will be their first Neyland/Knoxville experience. Just the men. Their Dad is a Memphis fan and mom went to Ole Miss. (Neither of which are coming) I lost my oldest nephew to Mississippi State allegiance. He still pulls for the Vols, but the dogs have his heart. But there is still hope for the younger ones. Me and my dad are gonna give them the royal treatment. I'm basically recruiting. This is the recruiting forum, so I figured this would be a good place to share that.
Also, we're from the western side of this great state. Where are some good places we should eat?
Calhoun's on the river for BBQ. Both their BBQ isn't going to win Pitmasters but it's good and great location on the river and a block from Neyland.
Liton's is a burger icon and their desserts are good too.
Ye Ole steakhouse is for steaks. I personally don't think it's as good as it used to be but it's a cool restaurant cut in the side of a hill. It's an old log cabin. Lot's of old UT memorabilia on the walls.
A little hidden jewel is Louis Italian restaurant. It's an family restaurant that I've been going to since I was a kid. They have drive up service so you can get your spaghetti served to you in your car. The lasagna is my favorite.
I'm sure others will have different opinions but those are mine.
Litton's makes me miss home. Oh lawd... A Thunderroad burger...
Other recommendations are fine, but I differ on Louis. My aunt has worked there for 20 or 30 or so years. It's ok, but if I want lasagna, I'm going to Pueleo's Grille. Send me some cheese grits while I'm waiting
Never been a fan of Puelos. Ate there twice and had two bad experiences. What does your aunt do at Louis?
Waitress. Not sure if she has another role now.
Pueleo's has always treated me well, except nachos were unbelievably salty once. Literally had salt on top of all the salty food, lol. Ever try the lasagna? Go back and get it done, if not

Hate to see the 2 mentioned together.
KB last game should have been about a decade ago and he shouldn't be seen as any kind of hero
