Agreed. I have an untrained eye but Kirkland seems like a one in a lifetime player.

"Once in a lifetime"? Taking it a little too far IMO. Incredibly bright kid, great athlete, but I didn't see anything that suggest he's a "once in a lifetime" type player....he was good as a freshman, but not great IMO. I can see DKJr growing into an All-SEC or even an All-American player. But "once in a lifetime"? Well over the top.

Not great? I thought he was just about as good as can possibly be expected from a freshman.

Thought we talking about not only "great", but "once in a lifetime" type player. You yourself just described him as "good". Big difference. Can/will he be great? Yes, absolutely. But was he a great, transformative player last year?....and the best linebacker even on his own team? Of course not.

Ok, once in a decade type player is fine. Lifetime was excessive. I haven't seen a freshman backer plug the middle like Kirkland since Ray Lewis hit Miami. I don't think he'll be as good as Lewis but if he's 85% we've got an All American on our hands.

CJ Mosley and Katzenmoyer were damn good. Both were consensus Fr All Americans.

I'll be interested in seeing how Michigan does this year. My roommate is a big Michigan guy so I'm sure we will watch each others teams.

I'm not, he's not once in a lifetime player but at his position, to come in and play at the level he did as a freshman was great. From what I saw (and this is jmo) if he continues on his current trajectory, he'll be one of the all time UT linebacker greats by the time he leaves here. Again, jmo.
