So the biggest knock against Serrano is that his players are TOO talented?
SouthKnox is right, every offseason it's who's gona be the QB at Bama. They have no QB. Then they win it all with a transfer backup. Yes they get good QB play but saying LSU is a QB away is describing Bama both of the last two years preseason. LSU is fine.
Some people have questioned his recruiting, which has been pretty darn good. He has also lost players to the draft, like Mookie Betts and if I remember a first baseman out of Knoxville.
However, baseball is a sport where one or two superstars cannot always carry a team. You need pitching and timely hitting from most of your lineup.
Baseball must be the hardest NCAA sport to recruit. You've gotta find kids good enough to play, but not good enough to jump pro too soon. At least in Basketball a one and done guy or two can be enough to make a tournament run sometimes.
Just saw this stat on the cfb subreddit. Alabama could have as many as 12-14 5 stars starting next year. In the two deep, they have 8 guys that were rated #1 at their position and 24 that were rated in the top 5 at their position. That is ridiculous.
Have you all heard of this kid? 6'5" 285lb OT out of McMinnville. Attended the camp in Nashville and picked up offers yesterday from Florida, Mississippi St. and South Carolina, and a CB to Tennessee yesterday from Barton Simmons. Played less than 1 season of football.
