A win in Athens would be our first true road win in a stadium that doesn't belong to an SEC East bottom feeder (i.e., Vandy, Kentucky, South Carolina, Mizzou) in a decade!

Here are my thoughts on Butch, and CZA.

Last year, WR production was bad. In fact, it has been subpar for a couple of seasons. On top of that, the WR's reportedly did not like the coaching they were receiving, complained to Butch, and may have threatened to transfer.

Butch was fed up, and decided to take a "hands on" approach, by working directly with the WR's more. He preaches a "family" atmosphere within the program and with his staff as well. I think he values what CZA brings to the table in other areas besides his position group coaching.

Butch takes this opportunity to not only improve the unit, via his direct interaction, but to coach his own coach, investing in him, and helping him to improve his craft. In fact, good coaches improve their staff, not just by firing and hiring, but by improving the existing parts. Butch is not looking to "Make CZA look good, and cut bait" or just simply fire him, but he is working with him, and demonstrating exactly how he expects things to be done.

WR production will go up. WR's will be happy because they have numbers. WR's will see production and want to come to WRU because of what they see, and the quality WR coach we have in place.

Now everyone to Calhouns. Ribs are on CrunchyLeb

Excellent post but I do have one question. Do I have to sit with crunchyleb?

Anyone else's Twitter account just get nuked? All of a sudden Twitter has no record of my account and I can't even change my password (says no account exists with my email address), but when I try to register a new account, it says there's already an account tied to my email. WTF.

Except for coaches and parents, Twitter now has an age restriction...they just realized that you are too old for Twitter.

:)

I was asked to teach in church, about 4 hours after this year's Florida game.

Florida losses wreck me for days. I briefly considered whether I should commit to preach or not. I accepted the opportunity. I expect to be in a stellar state of mind

I volunteered to organize the Fall canoeing campout for my son's Scout Troop...guess which weekend it is?

:hi:

Random thing, as much as Doc/Jeff/Heather are almost universally hated, Dearstone would be wise to take a step back and pay Brian Rice whatever he wants.

That show was actually listenable last week while he was in. Back to the same slop this week.

IF Malone truly emerges and doesn't stay as a Fall Camp Hero...then we have a very good tandem in Malone, Williams, and Smith. Those 3 will be fantastic to watch cut through the defenses. Then you add Ethan Wolf and Croom...schnikies.

Josh Smith should go in the later rounds of the draft. That kid is always open and flat out makes plays. He's not flashy but he is very consistent. I see him playing on Sunday's.

Dude has come along way from being a labeled a drop ball artist his freshman year. Glad he has been able to put together a nice career here.

Ya he's flat out fast too. He's outrun quite a few DBs. Those drops were brutal his freshman year though, but props to him for moving past it.

If this is the year that Malone lives up to the 5 star rating then look out. The rest of college football ain't ready.

I believe he has finally turned the corner

I thought I remember reading after the fact that he had a broken hand or something like that during his freshman year. Does that ring a bell to anyone or am I just making stuff up in my brain movies?
