I feel great about this team, but that Florida game still looms so large. Right now I feel confident, but something about seeing those blue, white, and orange jerseys just makes me sick to my stomach. Combine that with the SEC on CBS theme and Gary and Verne on the call and I'm Pavlov's dog.

We'll know a lot more about the team after Virginia Tech, IMO. I'm not really concerned so much about the final score of that game as I am the performance of individual units. Is the DL dominant? Are Richmond and Kendrick adequate at protecting Dobbs? Are the WRs physical enough to go up against UF's secondary?

Will also watch UF vs UK carefully. I think UK is good enough that McElwain can't completely go into a shell playcalling-wise. He'll have to show some things to get that win, so we should have a good read on them after that game.

so i have a couple friends at the clinton vs oak ridge game and theyre trying to tell me higgins already has two td catches and two picks... are they messing with me or is this real? because even as bad as my dragons usually are thats pretty stout for a first half. also said he limped off after td #2

Idk about the picks but he's got 2 TDs the team they're playing is trash. It's 42-7 he's done for the night but did limp off

We as fans have a mental hangup about Florida, but that doesn't have a thing to do with how the players feel about Florida. And I imagine the players are fully aware that they let the Gators off the hook twice now, and now that the Vols are unquestionably the better team, they recognize the trash talk from Tabor and McElwain and the like for what it is: a cheap attempt to get in their heads to try and avert the inevitable.

What happened in Urban Meyer's tenure is wholly irrelevant. The streak is a talking point, not an indicator. Spoiler alert: that stupid streak is over here real soon.

Oh yeah, I know. My post was about my own confidence in the Florida game. It's always a hard game for me to watch. Last year I left my house! Superstitiously, I thought we might win if I didn't watch. I also saved myself from what would have been a sure mental breakdown on 4th and 14 had I witnessed it live.

This year I plan on watching, as I do feel more confident, but I will probably be on edge the entire time unless we jump out to a 35-0 lead in the 1st quarter or something.

my buddies are clinton homers and still say he makes camion patrick, who was pretty dang good, look like a scrub....

It would be nice if we can get these roughly 2200 posts knocked out before the season starts. Start it off with a new RFFT.
