We can go 6-2 in the conference and still win the East. I think our 2 losses could be Ala and A'M..the A'M scares the hell out of me, I wish it was a home game. Long as we beat UF and GA we should win the East. Ha will lose to Ole Miss and UF will lose to LSU.

UGA will also slip up against one of the bottom 4 teams in the East.

I still want to see Butch and co. close out games, and I'm convinced that they will this year, but for those folks who think Jones really botched it last year in multiple games, why hasn't that been built into your expectations? If you think we should've been 10-2 at worst last year, does Bob Shoop really make that much of a difference? The buck stops at Jones, and if it's him who cost us games last year, he can do it again this year, right?

Butch made some questionable calls but I honestly think that's overstated by the media and fans. He obviously has room to improve but when you go back and really analyze our games what ultimately cost us was our defense (offense produced one of the best rushing attacks in school history). They just weren't that good last year and they lacked depth which led to defensive breakdowns late in games. Jancek made poor decisions on critical plays and defense was often caught out of position. And as we all know, we couldn't stop a 4th down if our lives depended on it. That should be fixed both in terms of depth and with the hiring of Coach Shoop.

Offensive problems (read passing woes) have been a combination of things -- OL, WR corps, and Dobbs being inconsistent. However, I've seen what Dobbs can do when he actually has time to throw the football and if the OL can give him that time and the WRs improve (which I think they will) the one deficiency on our offense will be vastly improved. That will itself create a more balanced offense that will prove incredibly hard to stop.

The most disappointing things to me last season were the defense and the WR corps. I think the defense has been corrected with depth and Shoop. I'm hoping the WR corps live up to their potential and by all accounts they definitely are in camp which is a very nice change from the past.

Just my .02 cents.

I can definitely see 10-2 but I will disagree with Austin about Ala..LSU will win the West this year.. atleast I hope they do.

I just have a hard time seeing it with their injuries and question marks at QB. I would love for LSU to win the West, but I just feel like picking against Bama is crazy.

Of course, picking against them in 2010 and 2013 would have probably sounded crazy, too. I hope LSU does it.

Coach of App state says that TN is ahead of where Clemson was this time last year. Comparing us to 2015 Clemson.

I hope you're right about A'M but our track record against the West makes me nervous, especially road games. I think LSU finally beats Ala again in Death Valley, atleast I'm hoping so. A lot depends on how well Brandon Harris plays.I T is hard to pick against Saban and it's probably more wishful thinking that they don't make it but I'm hopeful it's the Vols vs LSU.

Herbstreit just said on the College Gameday special that he has us beating Bama at home and then losing to them in the SEC Championship. The only mention of us in the entire 1 hour show.

GFW did Moseley impress that much at camp? Surprised that Martin is not the starter. Also surprised about Obrien listed as starter. Thought Kmac had worked really hard this offseason- I know they all will play but still...
