I love Butch Jones. I think he's turned out to be a great hire for this University. He took over a program on life support. You can debate whether any other coach could have done better than Butch but you could never win that argument. He's done everything that could have been ask of him.

Everyone in every aspect of life has a ceiling. Manning, Jordan, Bolt, Tiger, all have ceilings as do we in everyday life in our jobs and careers. Only question left to ask is what is Butch's ceiling? Are we currently witnessing Butch's ceiling or does he have more to show us? Only time will tell. As a Vol fan, I'm pulling for him. I think he's genuinely a great guy and us driven to be the best. I'm glad he's our coach.

Jumper needs to do the basics. Just tackle if you're in. Nick Reveiz used to at least tackle. He wasn't even as athletic as Jumper. Got to at least wrap the man up. You don't have to be talented to do that.

Evan actually was practicing well on defense last year. He's been injured this Spring and Fall camps. We're so deep on the backend that you're not getting your spot back now. Abernathy isn't going anywhere and Warrior is a future dog as well.

Whoa, whoa, whoa.....get out of here with this rational, logical truth. That makes it boring. As a fan, I am spending my time, energy, and money on UT football and I want investment from that. I want to be included. I want to give my uninformed opinion and have it taken seriously, by golly!

Sports is not the only place we see this phenomenon. Happens in many areas of society. It is what it is.

I think people saw mwhat Awbarn did on defense against Clempson and came away impressed. I think TAMU is a comfortable winner here. Auburn will be lucky to score more than a couple of FGs.

I read VN for enjoyment of the only football team that matters to me.

All the pessimistic perseveration and mental masturbation over one player or one position group is so over the top except to the obsessive negaVols; it borders on ridiculous.

Hope for a great season bands many of us together. Hope seems to truly upset many of the legion. They have been in ecstasy of a bad decade. I think many are so enamored with the negative that the positive offends them.

I don't like seeing Jumper play play but I'm not a nega-Vol. I support Butch and I recognize the amazing job he has done revitalizing the roster (for the most part).

Discussing football and having 'an opinion' is not what they are talking about. That is fine. Things like "here is what I think based on what I have seen, but then again there is alot going on that I don't know about" is a completely reasonable way to discuss things. Fact is those types of statements make up like 2% of the opinions shared on here. The other 98% are "here is what I see and the coaches must be idiots for not seeing it the way I do..."

I'll just try and enjoy it one game at a time. I'm not ready to say this game or that game will make or break the season. I thought it was broken after the Arky loss last year and they turned it around. I'm gonna love the Vols and watch no matter what, so I might as well not get too invested in any one game.

What you have been posting about all the pressure on Butch to win against UF this year, is what I've been saying all summer. I hope for all our sakes that we win that game, because it is going to be bad for all of us if we don't. He would have to pull off the UGA game, and then upset Bama to overcome the negatives that would arise from another UF loss.
