10 teams with "pulses" didn't beat Georgia or Northwestern last year (including Stanford). 5 win Vandy beat 5 win Tennessee in our disastrous (but preseason hyped) 2005 season...under Fulmer. HEAVILY hyped team. Five draft picks...beginning of the bleeding, staved off for two years by the return of Cut.

That's fair. But it is also fair to say that it can be looked at in a way that shows CBJ has under achieved. Especially if you compare CBJ's and Fulmer's winning percentage against top 25 teams. True the cupboard was bare when he arrived, but any given Saturday you see a team with lesser talent upsetting a team that should not lose or a team with way lesser talent coming close. There is no doubt that CBJ is a great talent eval guy and a wonderful recruiter. He obviously connects with his players. I have a real hard time ignoring the losses to Florida the last 2 years and to Oklahoma last year. It is fair to question his in game coaching ability and maybe even a few depth chart issues which have been well documented on here. One has to wonder with a different up and coming coach if we wouldn't have a little better record even if we had a little less talent. Personally I am willing to give CBJ a little more time to see what he can do with the talent he now has. And I am not stressing over this years recruiting as many are, since he has proven to me he knows who has talent. I am very worried about in game coaching, use of the WRs, our Oline, and his ability to win any really big conference game against a major rival like Alabama or Florida. This season will probably go a long way to determining his future here. If he loses to Bama and Florida this year he should not immediately be fired but his seat will be warmer.

Am I reading it right that TAMU is a 3 point road dog to Auburn? What do you guys think? I think TAMU is legit and will handily beat them.

I never said it would happen. I said it could happen. As we've witnessed the last two years, we face a Florida team that many believe we are equal or better talent wise at every position group, more so this year than in years past. We lose this one and it further reinforces the idea that Butch could field the New England Patriots and he couldn't coach them to a win.

We lose to FL and it very well could propel the Vols to losses against GA, A&M, and Bama. On the other hand we beat FL, a huge mental monkey will be off our back and it could push momentum to an unbelievable level.

Butch needs this win more than any other this year IMO. I'm not advocating for him to be fired even if he loses all those games. I just think it will start a downward trend.

Yes and yes!

Let us go!!

Don't have a bit of trouble with this reasoning.

Hey Maxwell..I hope you see this. I wasn't meaning to bash you, and certainly not crucify you for that. It was just crazy to me that a whole bunch of posters took what you said, (which really wasn't a conclusion, more of a surmising) and were thinking you said Rick Neuheisel was talking about the Jumper rumor, which you obviously did not say. I apologize for the poor wording of my post.

Thank you ! I agree it was completely misunderstood. And I actually agree that you do not go to Rick for advice or assume all this issue Rick mentioned ( if there really even is one ) is about Jumper. That's probably unlikely. I was hoping if someone knew of an issue it would be mentioned. Sounds like if there is one then it is well hidden for the time being.

IMO if we lose to the gators we don't win the east. Many think that's where this team should be this year minimally. Does it ultimately cost him his job down the road in two or three years? Does turning the page next year with a new QB start another rise where we see a truly multiple dimensional offense that takes the Vols to another level? It's all conjecture but I think the FL game is Butch's most important since he's been here and is a crossroad in his career. JMO.

Is this game today streaming anywhere. I will be flying for 1st half and need a source

Don't get your hopes up if you are on a commercial flight. The wifi on a commercial airliner won't let you stream video, spotty for streaming audio at Best. If on a private plane and flying below 10,000 ft you can use a cellular hotspot. Again, will be pretty spotty.

Best case might be to bite the bullet and purchase the television service on the commercial flight and hopefully that tv service includes SEC Network.

It is so hard to read CBJ. I think by now you probably should know if you want to keep the coach or not. I am leaning towards " he is a keeper ". I would sure like to see us win at least half of that big 4 game stretch. And a win over Florida would sure be sweet.
