They're talking because they know they're not as good as Tennessee. Getting in the Vols' heads is their best bet, and they know it, which is why they've invested an inordinate amount of time in the offseason, McElwain included, in trash talking and sarcastic back-handed compliments.

It's panic and insecurity -- a poor, pathetic motivational tactic. It's just too bad for them it won't help. The streak is already over.

yeah, we've been waiting on that for about two years... So far we've supposedly been playing close to the vest (Ha Ha) and NOW we are going to play four quarters full speed instead of showing up and sleepwalking through the first half...
