I liked the idea of Taggart being a possible option; but that ship has sailed now....

Not sure if he would be classified an up and comer, but Craig Bohl.

Chad Morris at SMU, but I think he is waiting on Sumlin to get fired. Big Texas guy.

Dino Babers will make a jump to a bigger program in the next 2-3 years.

Satterfield will be due in a few years.

Kiffin...

I'm sure there are others.

Exactly. One stigma that has followed Butch is he has this giant ego. Has to understand that you have to let the OC and DC do their thing.

Absolutely agree. I think his success or failure with falls on that one thing. You bring in big time proven coaches you better let them do their thing.

Can you even imagine what that would do for recruiting!? Good Lawd that would bring some top tier talent.... maybe even at the last minute to this class if they knew about it...

Would love Helfrich and Fair. Not sold on Hoke, but if it takes hiring him to get Helfrich, I could prob deal with that.

Ugh. The overuse of bold and italic typeface is a pet peeve of mine. Once in a while is fine. Speckling the entire article with it makes the whole thing read like one of those shady internet drug ads. Lose 50 pounds in three days with one simple pill!

Having said that, it's an informative read but it tells a very one-sided story. He's a first-year DC implementing a switch from a base 3-4 defense to a base 4-3 defense, and the 2015 Ducks were already the worst defense in the Pac-12. We have first-hand experience with scheme changes in do-or-die years.

And besides: we aren't asking Hoke to come in and call the defense. We're asking him to come in and help us at the position where he cut his teeth as a coach, and we're asking him to recruit which is something he is very good at. It would be a very good hire IMO.
