So apparently there's talk on 247 (John Brice) that Butch might be bringing in Helfrich for OC or Co/OC, Brady Hoke for DL coach and Terry Fair to coach DB's. Doubt it happens but that would be interesting.

So, if Debord remained to work with the OL, a situation like this would mean six of ten coaches with HC experience on one staff - five at major programs. Interesting.

Ditto, Helfrich as OC alone would have me fully back on board the butch train. No way Helfrich would come and be micromanaged by a guy who is nowhere near the offense some mind he is.

The trajectory to a flash in the pan unsustained championship and that to building "9 strong" depth to a championship are two different ascents. There are vested interest against Jones establishing a deep culture of winning and all these pesky bandits are appearing now to derail the building of a broad spectrum foundation. While it is true that Jones is at a cross-roads these narratives are more about stopping Tennessee than anything else. Be wary of buying in. The interests that promote them oppose dominance in Knoxville.

Actually a good article a lot of it makes sense. I think CBJ trusted the team to the veterans and a lot of them just weren't ready to "own it." CBJ is 48, pretty young in coaching terms. He has a lot to learn, I just hope he realizes that and makes corrections. Like the article concluded, he needs to have his "Eureka" moment. I am pulling for him.

Shannon Terry loves it. Huge Bama fan. Probably gave Travis a big bonus to write that article and made sure his editors gave it the most damaging headline possible.
