Rucker hates Butch because Butch has no respect for the media hacks who cover the program. Rucker writes clickbait for 247 and is the lowest man on the totem pole there after they hired John Brice and Grant Ramey.

All true.

I can't wait til he is gone from this market. Surely there's some crappy newspaper out there that will hire this guy away from here.

lol. The vast majority of you fully support Butch despite all of the obvious issues and your own posts that said the same stuff. Do you honestly expect current players to allow their names to be quoted? How about current UTAD staff or current members of the media with access to the program? Not even VFL's that get to attend practices and events are going to want their names quoted.

Yes, the article is a rehash hit piece for the fan base that does not follow it all as closely as you. The suggestions made are some of the same ones many of us have made on here. Does that make us bad people as well?

Winning at a higher level cures this. At UT 8-4 is treading water. Butch's got another year to win at a higher level. If he makes major hires and stops stepping on his own **** he will get longer than that to prove he can get it done. That's all any employee of any employer can ask and more than most.

But you have to agree that the timing is not coincidental. This is old news.

Sure, no one currently at UT wants to attach their name to it, so just don't give a quote. Why would a current employee want to provide any negative feedback? That's not a "team" concept. Butch will either make it as a coach at UT or he won't, and those quotes won't matter. We don't need unnamed negative Nancies chiming in about it.

That 247 piece has all the markings of "fake news": unattributed sources, publisher with an agenda, comments closed.

This is an unfair assessment IMO.

I think you are just focusing on the negative.

The author did a great job of providing quotes to try and challenge those negatives (like from Hood)

Correct. He desperately tries to tell everyone how crucial his job is on a daily basis.

If you have to convince people that you are important, you ain't that important.

Rucker believes that if he didn't exist that fans would not know that UT football existed.

He really thinks he is that crucial to fan/program relationship.

Complete tool bag.
