Well, I'm originally from East Tennessee. All my family still lives there. We used to go to Destin years ago.
We've been in Charleston for 10+ years now. We have a place in Wild Dunes. Love the whole island. Where y'all at?
I haven't, but I have tried a beer or two of theirs. I have been to Westbrook Brewing, which is in Mt. Pleasant off Long Point. They release one of my favorite beers in May, and it's another reason why I've convinced my wife to go the week of Memorial Day. I want to try to get to some others, but three kids can hinder that.
Don't worry. We have Jim McElwain to save us.
The shark community has filed a class action Title IX suit against Jim McElwain. They have also filed a restraining order that prevents McElwain from coming within 25 miles of the ocean, zoo, or aquarium where sharks may reside. There is great fear in the shark community of the Donkey Shark Rapist. TIFWIW.
Holy city and revelry are both really good. Palmetto brewery was OK the one time I went. I've never been to westbrook, but it's on my to do list. I have one month left to live in Charleston and a massive list of things to see and do before I leave
We have a place toward the opposite end on Carolina. My father in law bought it after Hugo. We love it, and our kids are getting old enough now where they really have fun. I have also gotten into craft beer and enjoy finding new ones.
I am not a big fan of Palmetto, but I need to try to get to Holy City, Revelry, or even Coast. Westbrook is just the first one that I had easy access to, and I found an annual release of theirs that is one of my favorite beers I have ever had. Their taproom times are very limited, but I am only their on vacation.
My family is from the Midwest. I can carry 240 and only look like I'm 200.
Where in wild dunes? My family stays in there once a summer and we love it. I just graduated from med school at MUSC and living down here had been the best four years of my life. As soon as I get the debt paid off my next goal is to get a place on IOP.
When I was deployed and didn't have all of the daily demands of normal life, I was a rock solid 185 lbs and very cut. Lifted regular and had lots of definition. Ate constantly and did protein shakes and pre-work outs. Stayed right around 185 the whole time even though I could see how much stronger I was getting by the amounts that I was lifting.
Now the demands of daily life come first. I don't mind though. It takes a lot of dedication to maintain that and I don't mind having a slight Dad body. Maybe once my kids are grown I'll get cut up again.
