That's really what I was wondering about. What is the specific SEC rule regarding grad transfers?

I don't know all the specifics, but there is a current rule that says something along the lines of "if you bring in a grad transfer whose academics don't meet some requirement or another, then you can't take another grad transfer for 3 years."

In 2014 UF brought in two grad transfers who didn't meet their academic requirements to stay eligible after enrollment. So UF is currently under a 3 year ban from accepting grad transfers.

Yes I do remember but starting when the player was drafted usually states where you think he was good. My statement still stands that he couldn't win at ND so why should his back up win at UF

Completely illogical.

You're equating Notre Dame's season as a team to the skill set of their starting QB, and furthermore making assumptions about their backup.

FWIW, Zaire can't enroll until/unless the SEC votes changes a rule about grad transfers in the next week or two at meetings.

Seems likely to happen, but the rule needs a majority to pass and it would be hilarious if the other schools in the east band together to put it off a year and screw over UF.

The article I read yesterday said that they could give him a waiver.

Then they don't deserve a change in rules.

Yes because he struggled. So as a backup you need to push the starter. Which did not happen. So if the backup cannot challenge the starter of a struggling team how is he supposed to lead a questionable team?

He just got drafted #52 overall in the NFL draft. You're going to argue that he was what was wrong?
