Ride with Martinez and forget about it. He's elite. Going to have to play against several elite in the SEC anyway.

So you didn't pack it up after Eason and then Fromme enrolled at UGA? :)

Nope. :hi:

With Martinez, JG and possibly QD (if he stays for his last season) we are elite. Just execute.

I don't get the worry about others stuff either. Take care of business. Despite all the whining about Bama, UGA and such, there is just not that much difference between the talent levels of top 15-20 programs. The difference is the system, the development, the S&C.

Sounds like they had some inside the family help. Guess whoever it was neglected to mention the surveillance cameras.

New We re talking to a ton of kids as they leave campus. Don't except any commits today -- and that's not a bad thing. Vols sold weekend as a family hangout, LOTS of guys very impressed. Tennessee definitely made headway with some top targets. More to come.

"DE/LB Caleb Kelly visited Tennessee today for the first time and said it's now "a top school" in his mind. He said he's hoping to make a decision by the end of the summer. Virginia and Vanderbilt are among the Vols' primary competition."

Blackman kicker and good friend of Jr, Thomas Burks won the kicking competition at Specialist Camp again this year.

Hearing from big programs. Jr said Florida has been pursuing.

So, last year there were 8 commitments (I think) during Orange Carpet Day and there were naysayers that was too many and we shouldn't have taken so many. I wonder how many will complain about there being 0 commitments today.

It really appears like Butch and this staff have really changed their approach to recruiting when it comes to taking early commitments.

Thoughts?

I'm okay with early commitments as long as they're guys we want to keep. I mean, nobody is complaining if Emerson and Horn committed today

What was the main thing that killed us in recruiting in 2017 and to a lesser extent 2016?

I know there's a lot of causes. No draft picks, Title IX lawsuit, lackluster staff, wait and see mode on Butch, etc.

But we had another "disappointing" season and other coaches can point to articles that say Butch is on the hot seat, and yet recruiting seems to be going really well.

That's gracious of you, but I think we'd ha e gotten wrecked in game 7. Finals on the road was too much for us mentally, just fell apart.

As a fan, I hate to win it this way. It will be forgotten in a few years and you might be right about Game 7. The sad part is that we will never know.

I'm convinced the lawsuit was a killer.
