Now that Derek Barnett is gone, where do you think he ranks all-time as a vol?

Fair or not, his legacy will in part be determined by how he fares in the NFL. Someone said top three all time, but that's probably recency bias. I will say that he is the best Vol player since Peyton, of that there is no doubt in my mind.

Red zone offense will be the key to the season. The loss of Dobbs as an x-factor in the offense will be huge. I expect the D to be stout. Will we have the strength to get past Bama, the endurance to top LSU, the deep football passion to beat SC, the moxie to beat UGA, and the killer instinct to beat Florida? Gonna think about this for awhile.

Edit: I believe team speed is a given.

Tennessee Vice Chancellor/Director of Athletics John Currie announced Monday that Kurt Gulbrand is joining the UTAD leadership team as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development.

Currently serving the University of Colorado as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Athletics Development, Gulbrand has spent the past five and a half years in Boulder, where he coordinated all fundraising efforts to support the Buffaloes’ 17 varsity programs.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Kurt and his family to the Tennessee family,” Currie said. “Kurt is well-known and widely respected nationally as a pacesetter for fundraising and development. He’s a proven leader who builds genuine relationships, and I’m confident that he—along with our talented Tennessee Fund staff—will make an immense transformational impact on the experiences of both our student-athletes and our fans.”

Gulbrand will begin his duties in Knoxville on July 24. He fills the vacancy created when former Tennessee Chief Development Officer Greg Hulen accepted a position at his alma mater, Florida State, earlier this month.

Gulbrand and his team recently led efforts for the Sustainable Excellence Initiative for CU Athletics—a transformational, $156 million capital campaign, the jewel of which was the completion of Colorado’s Champions Center and an indoor football practice facility.

I think we go 9-3 as well.

The West losing streak continues but we either beat UF in the Swamp or make it three in a row vs UGA.

We finish 2nd in the East again and win the Citrus Bowl. And there will still be a fairly large contingent of Vols fans who will want Butch fired after going 10-3.

I'd be a pretty happy man if Tennessee went 10-3 next year, even without winning the east. Haven't won 10 games in a decade and I really don't understand how fans could want Butch fired after a season like that. If we go 10-3 this year with a returning Dormady/Guarantono in 2018, that could be a big time year with this staff and all the talent that has been accumulated.

Just a random observation after yesterdays discussion. Interesting that our top two receivers have the bona fides to start in the defensive backfield.

Mark Richt is killing it at Miami. Number one class in America in the 2018 composite rankings.

Such a pretty site. I would assume some new cars are about to start flying off car lots all over Tuscaloosa in the coming weeks.
