VolDoc - I just sent you an email. It's a tome but I figured you'd need the medical history. Feel free to hit us with bad news -- at this point we desperately need some idea of what might be going on. Thank you so much for taking the time. YOU ARE A SAINT.

Never been accused of being a Saint
:)

Sounds like you're rooting against Tennessee

Naw it's kind of like pulling for Tennessee but betting on the other team to win. Either way something good comes out of it. Tennessee wins, it doesn't hurt much at all to lose the money. Tennessee loses, well at least I'll see a few show cards coming my way. In this case, if the big orange falls to the tide we'll get to see D4H eat a bag of hockey.

Really? I was squatting that in high school. Figured more D1 athletes could squat that.

I wanna say I remember 2 or 3 of the bigger guys on our HS team squatting 400.

I was not one of those guys. I do not lift these days. I'm not sure what 500 means for a D1 lineman.

I did it once my senior year but I haven't worked out like that in a long while so I'd be surprised if I could get 350 right now lol

I too was not thrilled with the squat numbers, but maybe absolute strength is not as important as explosive power and leverage when you reach that strength level already.

I'm not experienced with strength training theories in relation to football players

One of my teachers in middle school blew his knee in training camp doing 600 for the eagles and got cut. Maybe doing above 500 is more danger than helpful

BTW 85, just did some digging and looks like a 500 plus squat is fairly uncommon in CF.

Fair enough. I know the elite snatch numbers is getting to be over 300, I just assumed those guys squatted over 500 even though it's not usually part of their competition. Maybe I'm overreacting.

I only watch crossfit for a few of the women, anyways.

(P.S. I think the clean is probably the more important lift for football, but not really fair to compare numbers across sports because I wouldn't expect a football S&C staff to put a lot of emphasis on proper technique.)

Our luck LSU will go 11-2 this year with Miles' recruits and then immediately plunge into CFB obscurity for 6 years, then get revived and be top 5 just in time for them to rotate back onto our schedule with a night game in Death Valley.

Fine with me. Tennessee is one of the 2 losses. Not one of their 11 wins.

Even better, Tennessee accounts for both of their losses.

See what I did there? :)

We have the 2nd most experienced OL in the nation next year. With a new hopefully good coach, we could be nasty. Phil Steele still puts us at #6 best OL in the SEC though, so I think we're being underestimated.

Basically almost the entire team is a huge question mark

Definitely more of the Olympic Weightlifters who squat 500-600 plus. Now those guys are freakishly strong but dedicate 3 sometimes 4-5 hours a day in the gym

What position group are y'all most excited for? Me personally DB's. I think CCW will make a big difference. If Martin is truly as good as the reports have been saying. Wiggins, Martin, Gaulden, TKJ, Warrior, Abernathy. I'm not necessarily saying it'll be the best position group we have, but I think it has a lot of upside and will surprise people.

Why would snatches be more important in your opinion?
