Technically, it has nothing to do with plants except for the type of plant source one component is extracted from (hardwood, softwood, non-wood). Forgive me if I am wrong, but did you say that you are a high school science teacher?

I'm looking to do some...research. Could you send me some money from the Army? $500k? K thanks.

But for real. I keep my own budget, but that is about all I know with that stuff. I have a buddy who is an accountant and he could talk about things that would make my head spin.

I love biology and chemistry both. Science was always my favorite subject in school.. that's the one regret I have is not pursuing it further.

Guess working for myself and not having to answer to anyone else will have to do. 😀

I have been responsible for hundreds of millions of dollars over the course of my career and never lost a penny. Ask Baldy for a "research" grant. He's got three or four nickels. :)

I applied, but they don't have much for my level. Mostly Ph.D. and they want experience beforehand. I have a job waiting for me where I will be working on fibers which is a good area to work in. Hopefully going to use that to work my way into a job at ORNL.

I have been out to ORNL to perform experiments, though. Went to the SNS building and shot some neutrons at samples :).
