I hate to hear that about CWD. From what I understand when they find it they will take out the entire herd it’s associating with. I’m not sure what they do with the carcasses but one theory I’ve heard is that when the deer rot the CWD will attach to the plant life around the dead animal which is then passed onto other deer when they eat the plant. This was just a theory and I can’t remember where I read it but it seems highly plausible.
As far as black bears go I’m not sure that they are super aggressive so they can do as they please with them. Mountain lions though, no thanks. Super predator, though Steven Rinella says they are delicious.
Rinella can prob make any meat flavorful with his knowledge base and the time to learn.
