Other than the gloves what am I missing

Just the efforts of paying reverence with an account (the official FSU recruiting account) revolving around sales pitches.

Maybe it's just the over-saturation of marketing, difficult-to-define limits of where ads and feels should be separate... It seems most advertising these days doesn't sell the product; rather it sells the feeling of the product. This gaffe isn't as bad as Dodge using MLK sound clips to sell trucks during last year's SB, but it's still icky and disingenuous.

It's hard to put into words. Say what you will about Millennials (I know the generation conversation has been had on this board recently) but the number one quality that generation values is sincerity/authenticity.

A major brand (centered around sports, a hobby) invoking MLK just seems overly and needlessly sanctimonious. We get enough of that with 9/11, Support Our Troops, Breast Cancer Awareness (thank god that one's kind of been put back in check from the all-time pink-washing highs of 2012).

hahahaha

then she said this

She said Twitter didnā€™t care about sexist naziā€™s on her profile because they werenā€™t doing anything about it, then a few tweets later said Twitter had already removed most of the threats she receivedšŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

Iā€™m really not sure why fans are even tweeting at her tho

Iā€™m pretty sure she fell for a fake Hyams account, seriously...

You do realize that the guy who did that graphic was a millennial, right?

Before we make total and absolute assumptions about a female sports writer accusing sexism because she has a bad take on bball.. It looks like someone said something about assaulting her. The whole 'calling the cops' and following subpoena reaction is eye-rolly, but responding to someone in the heat of the moment often yields knee-jerk results.

The guy who tweeted the 'rape threat' apparently felt bad enough to delete it, so I'd side with her right to be pissed off about it. And then whoever Smokey Vol (#1) is basically doubled down on it with the 'I'm sure you'd enjoy it' response. That's pretty f***ed up and we shouldn't be defending those people, no matter how wholeheartedly we believe Duke should remain #2 in the rankings.

Bad takes on sports happen all the time, by literally everyone. No one should face rape comments because of them.

Sorry for sounding like a preachy libtard, but seriously. Don't tweet something you wouldn't want hung on a sign around your neck as you stroll through the grocery store. It's not that hard.

The Vol Twitter warriors are largely very embarrassing and your post is 100% right.

The world was better off without Twitter or social platforms. Imo

Do you know what the ā€œthreatā€ was?

Iā€™ve had some horrible threats sent to me on reddit and tweeted at me a couple times because I made the mistake of posting political opinions online. You know what I did? Closed the tab on my computer and got over it.
