I agree. They are doing a bang up job given the amount of support they receive and the socioeconomic problems they have to sort through each day.

The teachers are doing what they can. It is the government trying to run every school district from Washington DC that is the issue. The Dept of Education should not exist at the federal level. The states should handle how to best run their schools.

They do don’t they? Don’t we all deserve the right to decent jobs? Those weren’t good jobs and, again, Amazon doesn’t pay taxes. It would have been a burden on the community. The people that live there didn’t want it lol

Define "decent". At least half of those Amazon jobs were tech related jobs and Amazon pays a minimum wage of $15/hour which is what the left has been screaming for. Bezos gave them exactly what they wanted, but it wasn't enough. That is the problem. It is never going to be enough.

Taxpayers pay for everything. Wars....military....why not pay for something that will take people off of the welfare.

So you give them a free education and feed the entitlement mentality. People are losing the mindset to "earn" something. They want everything NOW and they want it to be paid for by somebody else. We needs welders, plumbers, electricians, and all sorts of other trades as well. People are told that they won't be successful unless someone gives them a free college education.

You want to get people off welfare? Stop giving them free stuff forever. Change the welfare system to encourage going back to work and actually becoming self-reliant. Don't add another welfare entitlement program to an already overburdened system.

Tennessee is able to provide two years of college free at a state university without any income tax.

It’s really easy to live comfortably and that money could go to pay for free healthcare and education. Wouldn’t it be nice to not worry about healthcare? I personally think we should join the rest of the developed world in having that comfort

Just glad they did away with the personal mandate penalty! I had to pay an $1100 penalty because I left a job in August and purchased cheap short-term insurance (not qualifying as minimum essential coverage under ACA) for September through December. COBRA or the marketplace would have been a few thousand for the same period, so it worked out, but still ridiculous. If I had to go to the hospital, I would have just paid out of pocket. Crazy penalty.

This is the football forum and I’m really digressing but I’m not sure you followed his point on information. Functional specified information currently exists within DNA. By definition, if you are a pure Darwinist, you have to believe the information in DNA arose by pure accident long before any intelligent beings arose that could understand it.

I never took any student loans. I worked like crazy to pay as I went. Got my Masters with zero loans.

FYI I’m a Veteran that had GI Bill. What they never told us was those expired after 10 years. I couldn’t use mine. Now it’s free and doesn’t expire. Guess my service wasn’t as important. I tried that sob story with my Congressman and got the “we truly appreciate your service... blah blah”.

Actually, if they're trained/skilled, they would be more productive members of society. Hate to break it to you hoss', ain't nothing free....taxes would pay for this. We already pay taxes. I would prefer people have a skill and be able to support themselves instead of having zero skills and not contributing to society. You act as if they will get a skill and do nothing with it.

Any time something is free it cheapens it. A highschool education is free and it's virtually useless. A four year degree is about useless now. Give it away and it will further lessen it's value. Are we then going to pay for everyone to get their Masters? Then when everyone has their Masters are we going to pay for everyone's PhD? What about medical school?

I barely watch it now. 4 years ago could tell you everybody’s name and record. Watched every pride and UFC event. Heck I event bought Yamma Pit Fighting ppv. I attended UFC 88 in Atlanta and watched rashad KO Liddell. But lately I only watch big events and the free fights. Just don’t care that much anymore.
