I'm iffy when comes to any insider on a message board. I want to believe tho.

He's definitely told us stuff regular fans couldn't know. But unlike most, he tells before it happens and it's stuff you can check.

But on recruiting, it's the impression the kid gives. So you're actually relying on the kid being honest and not being swayed by another team. I just watch for info like "last visit" etc.. that he provides early on, usually before it's public. I don't rely on a kid to never change their mind.

Yeah, I don't even pay much attention to the commit predictions, tbh.

It's stuff like telling us the coaches are on their way to see Crouch - a day before VQ reports it just happened. So I guess I do feel better if a kid tells him something positive, I just don't rely on that never changing or the kid not just pacifying folks.
All just in fun for me, I suppose.

You are right to be iffy. With AV though, it's not about whether he's right or wrong, it's about the friends we make along the way.

People misinterpret "feeling good with where we are" as we've got him. That's not what it means. It means we have a shot. The only certainty is when the kid himself publicly makes his declaration, and even then it's not 100% until you get a signature. People get their hopes up, then if something other than what they want happens, they look for someone to blame. People just need to enjoy the insight AV brings and stop interpreting what he says as a sure thing. The fact he's broken info several times before the pay sites speaks for itself.

Not questioning his legitimacy as he usually makes predictions a day or so before the pay sites. Just saying I disagree with what u said about him saying he “likes where we are” meaning we have a shot. I think we need to be at least among the top options before he blesses a thread, otherwise we’d be getting our hopes up a lot. And to be fair, I think that’s more or less the standard he goes by

Accurate and I'd maybe even go further. Plenty of kids are just being nice/nonconfrontational and trying to please everyone. Or maybe they really enjoy every visit because it's 100x better than where they come from. Easy for a school to hear positives without the true value being known.

He is someone that loves the Vols and wants to share the excitement of what is going on inside the program with recruits with us because he wants us to be excited also. The truth is that AV has said some things on here over the past couple of years, fairly definitively, that were obviously meant to imply an outcome and has been both right and wrong. As I have said before, I think AV has legit connections based on the things he has said and the things that have been posted about him by others who know him, however the cultlike following is what is really weird, and I include in the cult both those who are devoted in praise (by the people who think he can do/say no wrong) and those who are devoted in criticism (and in some cases wrongly attribute AV as saying things he never said when we didn't get a recruit). Perhaps the continual dustup over his status is due to his riddlesome nature, which I assume is a personality trait.
