And despite all this doesn't Clay still claim to be a Democrat? He's like Joe Rogan. Both guys rail on liberal politicians and policies daily but still claim to be on the left. Just come out with it already.

Those leading the left are the political equivalent to Butch Jones. You can be a Tennessee fan but hate the direction Butch took the team, and a lot of his decisions/antics. Which could lead to bishing about it on your platform of choice.

That's true. I guess I'm used to people who vote Democrat defending the left at all costs. "Vote blue no matter who."

Since the subject came up and it is still here - Jesus gave his disciples the ability to heal the lepers and other ailments of the people. As believers and disciples they trusted the Lord for the healing power, not man. The leper was separated from the people due to the contagion and not allowed to be back into the populace until proven he/she was healed. Healthy people did not leave and stay with them as a general rule. Food, clothing, etc. was brought to a safe location, where the afflicted would come to retrieve. It was an awful existence if the body could not heal itself. Jesus upset that applecart as he did so many others. He offered healing, hope, and love - which included touch. The Pharisees reacted harshly for it violated the law and cultural traditions. No healing allowed, especially on the Lord's Day (ironic). To bring this more current, at one time there was even a leper colony on Molokai in Hawaii as an example.

This is neither pro or anti mask. That's a personal issue to resolve. But when using scripture of the Lord to make a point and support a position, how did Ezekiel (Ch. 37) respond to God in the Valley of Dry Bones? "You alone know." Right answer. He could have said, "of course not" or even "yes" instead. That would have been presumptuous and wrong. In this discussion, only the Lord would know if he would wear a mask in this situation or if he would tell the disciples and people around the contagious person to use a mask or any other protective gear.

Like Ezekiel, I will not presume to know what God (Jesus) would do or not do. I will follow what He puts into my heart and mind to do and not judge others for a different choice.

Let's see if we can mend some fences and discuss other things that are not so contentious.

thank you, Vols4Us.

Doesn't matter to him. He's like Glenn Beck, who openly said he never believed what he said on air, it was just entertainment. Clay knows his demo and plays to his LCD brobots every chance he has. He plays them like a fiddle.

If the right field porch at Yankee Stadium made it easy, why didn't any other Yankee hit 61?

From 1945-2008 (old yankee stadium) only 9 times did a Yankee lead the league in HR's.

Besides Maris' 61, the numbers are:

Joe D 39
Mantle 37,52,42,40
Nettles 32
Jackson 41
A Rod 48,54
You are forgetting the big one, Babe Ruth sixty home runs. Joe DiMiggo was a right handed hitter, not too sure why you have him here. Mickey Mantle was a switch hitter , who his ownself said he had more power hitting right handed, His home runs were about even from both sides of the plate ,but left field had such a deep power alley that it had to be a monster shot to get out. The short porch in right helped him even out the home runs. Gregg Nettles was mainly in the line-up for his glove. His lifetime average was only .248. He did win a Gold Glove. Reggie Jackson, I have no idea why he did not hit more. He was a great hitter with a .300 lifetime average. I do not remember (maybe he did) hit many monster shots, he seemed to get his home runs at critical times. A Rod was not in the line up for long balls, he was a great hitter close to .300 lifetime but as a glove man there was few his equal. Fo leading the league in home runs , the majority of the hitters are right handed hitters and with the deep power alley in left field at Yankee Stadium, the Yankee hitters were at a disadvantage with much shorter left field power alleys in the other ball parks.
