Sorry my man. Hopefully they calm down soon
I was mostly worried she would be out late as she sometimes does and would just be driving by rioters. Seen videos online of random passerby cars just getting mobbed and smashed for no reason ugh. Luckily she was at home all night. But the fedex she uses, the target she goes to, etc were smashed up, they were right by her building. So ridiculous.

They should all be shot..some innocent people like her are going to get killed if the authorities don't put this down. Are they going to start rampaging and burning down people's homes before they are stopped?

Riots, looting is wrong no question. But what’s the alternative when peaceful protest didn’t work either.
The protesters wanted justice after 24 hours. Legal system doesn't work THAT fast...not if you want an airtight case. Continue protesting, pressuring the DA, voting locally, sure...but burning your own community is counterproductive.

To help you understand...we are a melting pot nation, which has been a strength of our nation, but it always has been a potential Achilles heal.

Now..great forces are dividing us, we are being pushed more and more into Us vs Them...we are becoming Balkanized, and the process is speeding up thanks to agenda driven media and social media. I hope it holds together a little longer so I can enjoy my golden years, but I think it could fall apart a lot quicker than people realize.

Really that’s what you got out of it. Nothing is productive that’s the point. Until everybody stands up which means EVERYONE the same things will continue to happen. This is about human rights. Shouldn’t take the legal system 24 hrs to get it right. And the incident happened on Monday. So try a lot more than 24 hrs

I absolutely, unequivocally support right to free speech. Let me preface, I support officers & military. Bad behaviour is bad behaviour.

Not sure what anyone hopes to accomplish with smashing windows and damaging property. I get we need change. Awareness of any type of social injustice is a great thing.

This is a sweeping comment. Bad behaviour of any type doesnt ingratiate the populace toward your cause. That goes for Cops, majorities, minorities...airbody.

I have zero respect for CNN, but seeing police arrest any journalist, even a journalist who works for a pathetic news source CNN's, for covering an obvious news story, is a very scary and dangerous situation to see in this country. This is banana republic level policing and is a clear violation of CNN's 1st amendment rights. The cops told the journalist they were just following orders. Whoever gave that order, whether it originated from higher up in the police force or the local government,, should be fired asap and never be allowed to hold a position of power again. This is going down a very dangerous road.

This only has power over us if we believe and buy into all of this and fear it. It is tribalist bs. Don't let it control and fear.

History is predictor of future. The People of United States have a pretty good track record of making it through the ****, and coming out for the better.

Things will get better.

The Twin Cities protests began the very next day is what I was referencing. It turned violent that first day. So, no, they did not give peaceful protest a chance. And if you think an AIRTIGHT case can be built in 24 hours, I don't know what else to say. If they present a rushed case or choose a charge they can't uphold, it sets everything way back.

Ultimately, this is systematic and deep. It will be changed at the polls and through activism and policy changes. Not this.

Bingo. I don't get the defeatist attitude of letting fear and division hold power over us. F that.

Question for ya. After seeing the video what more do you need. Another question peaceful protest went down for all the other ppl that were killed and then this STILL happens. So what’s the alternative? I’m down for finding a solution. And I also started my original post with rioting and looting is wrong. But do you think ppl will continue to peaceful protest with no solution. At some point it will turn violent. “It seems” like ppl are more outraged about the protest than they are about another man dying by the hands of the police.

"I" don't need anything else, but the legal system does not work that way. It is far more complicated, if you want to win the case.

I'm no expert, but I'd say continuing policy change, enforcement, etc is the reasonable "answer". Vote in police chiefs that are willing to make things happen. Vote out judges and DAs that are garbage. Maybe there should be national policy and have a review board. Idk just an idea.

Police will act on their training, so that's where it begins and ends. In the heat of the moment, they aren't going to think "well shucks people might riot if I hold this man down in a certain way". By then it is too late anyway. You have to change how police interact, are trained, and weed out those with biases. You also have to make sure the police are still fully capable of using reasonable force when necessary. Above all else they probably need more de-escalation training.

If this pic is true why are the same things that happened then are still happening now.
Partial progress does not equate to 100% progress. He did what he could in his time.

On the flipside, what did the LA riots in '92 accomplish? A truck driver got beaten to within an inch of his life. Businesses were burned down. Relations between Koreans and blacks were greatly injured. An entire community was set back and future businesses did not want to invest there. It only hurt.

Mankind is inherently evil and thousands of years of history are NOT changed in less than 60 years. Question for you: what has violence done other than brought more violence ?
This is my point neither work. What’s wrong wit ya guys. I have CONTINUED and CONTINUED to say rioting and looting is WRONG but at some point this is what happens when NOONE listens. We should be going JUST as hard (or vocal) for that matter about innocent ppl losing there lives. Notice we’ve had post going back and forth about last nights situation but have maybe 1 on Monday when the video came out. This is the problem.

“Don’t burn your own home in hatred of your enemies.”
Powerful speech.

I love Killer Mike. Underrated musician and an outspoken social activist. The country needs more people like him. Dungeon Family.
