Recruiting forum off topic thread (no politics, covid, or hot button issues)

@Boo carter mom if my? offended you, my apologies.

Speaking from the point of view that I really don't have a dog in this fight, your question did come off as a little odd and brunt.

I know you don't care what my or anyone else's opinion is, but I think the others are just saying you could have been a little more tactful when you asked.

I'm guilty of being brunt and upfront myself at times. Buy I do try to trend a little more softly these days, especially in recruit threads.

And I think Boo's mom seems Ike the type that would have said something if it offended her.

So no harm, no foul.

Honestly, many in here need to quit beating a dead horse. It's been addressed and resolved, no hard feelings from the parties involved. Let's not manufacture anything more of it.

Idk why these people attacking you. You clearly were stating what a local coach told you and then asked the mom if grades were gonna be an issue.
They are afraid of offending the mother of a prized recruit. If she wasn’t on here, no one would have thought a thing about it. Some are carrying it a little far though.

We say things all the time in life in conversations that we wouldn't necessarily say in front of the parties involved in those conversations. No one usually views these conversations as a big deal. Me and my brothers, my wife and my sister- in- laws might have conversions about my mother (whom we all love and respect) amongst ourselves. No big deal. We wouldn't, however, have the same conversion on Facebook for her and the rest of the world to see. Some may see this as pandering. Others consider it common decency or respect for others.

Again, his mom handled it better than some of you guys.

She seems to have too much class to give a hint of the amount of damage it has done to her perspective of a subset of the our fanbase. Not sure how comforting it is the know that EVERY TEAM HAS THEM. It is one thing to deal with that as a concept, another to have direct contact with them. Discretion is what it is and so is the absence.

Dude literally asked a question that he heard for clarification from someone who would know. Stop trying to be a keyboard tough guy
🤣🤣🤣 keyboard tough guy. I don't think I've said anything here that I wouldn't say if we were all in the same room. Nor have I said anything that should spark a physical altercation if we were in the same room. If he heard it from one of Boo's coaches then yes, they might know. If it was from a coach at another school, then that person might not know squat. It's done regardless. Moving on.

TLDR 👍

I do not disagree with any of that. I was referring to the personal attacks on Jacket by some posters that didn’t really have anything to do with what he said today.

Jacket brings a lot of it on himself, with his routine personal attacks on others on here. This thread, for example, had a lot of clean up by the staff after jacket insulted pretty much everyone on the forum and told one member specifically to F off (except he spelled it out, putting a space between the u and c so the language filter wouldn't catch it).

So it was more about previous posts not necessarily just the one about grades.

In this instance it started with his question about the kids grades. He kind of went off the deep end when people questioned if that was a rude question. Like I said, mods cleaned this thread up. He's not a victim.

I'm asking for continued prayers. Wednesday night I sat for 4 hours with a dying billy goat only about a year and a half old. There was nothing we could do for him, with the help of a vet we provided every treatment we could but he succumbed to what we suspect was a toxic plant he ate.

Another one of his pasture mates was experiencing similar symptoms. He seems to have turned the corner but goats systems are very fragile. We are doing the best we can while working full time jobs and running our rescue farm. I'm exhausted but encouraged that Merle ate hay, grass from the field and feed today and was much more active. Animals have become my life, please say a little prayer or send wishes our way if you can.
