I'm not a fan of government overreach, but in general, protecting kids seems like a reasonable government function. So I take it that you are a fan of having your kids hang out on SM all hours of the night?
I'm a fan of being a parent. Being involved. Which, should go without saying that SM isnt healthy for a 3,6,8 yo.

I'm also a fan of reasonable, logical, and helpful laws for betterment of society.

Anyway, big edit before this gets sent to the Dead Marshes, below Mordor known as PF.

And any law passed by conservative people from Utah is naturally unreasonable, illogical, and unhelpful.

When you dress up as a band of native americans and slaughter a caravan of settlers its always a foundation for a solid government!

Oh I seriously doubt that any culture or government is faultless, and there exists a statute of limitations for a reason. We live in the south, not exactly faultless ourselves...so glass houses and whatnot.

But in the modern era, I'd take Salt Lake City over Portland 100% of the time.

You can have it. SLC is creepy af.

It’s all oil money lol
The United States experienced recession in 2008, and possibly '18.

Texas didnt. I would say that's party due to oil, but there are a ton of other reasons. I know the new EV truck facility, Rivian. The housing market, stability, and Californian influx is brining money and middle class.

Is Rivian in Texas? I know Tesla has moved its headquarters and a gigafactory in Texas. I thought Rivian was going to Georgia.

The Californian influx will bring in voters that will vote in the death of the middle class. (They are leaving California for a reason.)

Let them bring their coin if they've realized the errors of the policies they voted in and then fled. I mean, California policy had a sure-fire fix for the home prices problem.

You're right, homeless is a California problem. I'm sure the people chose to live on the streets. I guess the leppers living on outside of Jersusalem lived in high rises.

Giant banks giving massive loans to people with no credit history had nothing to do with it. Nor did big business being giving carte blanche to move and posture in and out of Bankruptcy, to no account, fabricating numbers for stockholder share prices, then unfettered selling of said stocks when **** hit the fan, had NOTHING to do with any of this.

You're right lets victim blame.

WTH are you talking about? I posted the desire for people to not be homeless, and blamed the policies that created homeless people. You listed a couple of the policies and then alluded to me blaming the homeless people.

I'll ask again. WTH are you talking about?

If I asked for policies that prevented murder, would you construe that as me blaming the victims of murder?

Guys, if you have a child in middle school or high school. I encourage you to email their teacher something positive. We are struggling right now. I don't want a teaching debate I am just putting this out there because it has been a rough year and it doesn't look like it will get better any time soon

I misunderstood 'let them' 'they' as you blaming Californians for their problems. Yes, they have a hand in it. Yes, they are different. But, problems arent just Californian. They're American issues, with policy, predicated on greed.

Left and right, but typically, at least of late. The right.
