Never heard he had this problem in HS. He was just overly excited early on. It is not that hard to coach out of a player IMO.
When you can out athlete most people on the field you don’t have to worry about it. They usually can’t get to the ball. When you’re a D1 athlete, everyone is either just as fast if not faster and stronger. It magnifies your incapabilities tenfold.

He would have more value at Tenn. as a RB. I think he needs another chance there. If the fumbles continue then he is finished. He is a big liability at LB especially in pass coverage.

Even without the fumbles, he just wasn't producing. Worst rushing average on the team that year. Not saying he doesn't deserve a 2nd chance if that's where his heart is...but fumbling wasn't his only issue.

Dude is big...not elite fast. That's a bad combo in a modern offense.

Big and not much in the speed department doesn’t work in modern offenses. You’re exactly right

He had some excellent runs in his short stint and showed an aggressive power running style. Don’t look at the stats, they may be a reflection of subpar line play and the game situation.

Line play issues are certainly relevant, but they affect every RB...being big and lacking elite speed just exacerbates that issue. Exactly what we saw in 2016 Hurd vs Kamara. Hurd couldn't hit/squirt through the quickly closing holes with our porous OL. AK could shoot through quickly or bounce outside no problem.

Big bruisers are dying off slowly, like FBs did. Though they'll always have a place if they are freaks with elite speed to boot (DH types) or in short yardage.

Long of 23 and 3.6 average on 52 rushes. 3 TDs and 3 fumbles. Liked the fire but he wasn’t productive.

What’s this modern offense you speak of? We have like 6 plays.

Crouch is a little bit better IMO. Both are sorry in pass coverage. I bet some of the Whitehaven trio if allowed would be much better players than both Banks and Crouch by the end of the season.

Both are just not fluid enough to play that position, sucks because now are too big to play RB, IMO. It is what it is. Luckily, we have Lewis and Willis coming in to compete for that spot next to Toot. Either way, I think we see someone new next to Toot next season.
