I admit that I'm not overly confident that our defense can put the brakes on that offense. If we were healthy? Yeah, bring it. But we're starting Moseley and Foreman on the outside, Gaulden and Abernathy are both dinged up, and I'll be pretty surprised if McDowell and O'Brien play. These guys are fighters, but how much do they have in the tank at this point? I think we need Kirkland to come back strong, TK to have the best game of his career, and the DL to have their best game of the season. I'm hoping that a few shots from Barnett will make Hurts play like a freshman.
On offense, I'd ease Hurd back into things, honestly. "Battering ram with a concussion" just seems like an innately bad combination, and I'd be okay with limiting his snaps in this one to get him healthy for the back half of the season. And we can live with that, because Kamara will WANT this game.
Dobbs has had success against their defense in the past. Kamara just showed against A&M that he has another level when he's pissed off. And Jennings might be the angriest WR I've ever seen. These guys are your playmakers. And I'd love to see another step forward from Byrd. He's a freshman and he doesn't always know where he's supposed to go, but he's very talented. There's a lot of fight in that dog.
Malone, Croom, Wolf... this is the game, guys. Man up or sit down. No bad drops, fight for everything. Malone looked like he was turning a corner in the first four games of the season, but he was quiet against Georgia and he had a terrible game against A&M. Croom needs to play big and go get the ball. And I've been very disappointed with Wolf as a passcatcher this year. Also, if Preston feels like being the difference-maker we thought we were getting this summer, I certainly won't complain.
Most of all, NO TURNOVERS. Take care of the ball.
My gut tells me that we've lost a little bit too much on defense, but I'm not willing to predict a loss. So go WTFA and then let the world wonder how it happened.
