I will preface this and say I’m not making a prediction this week, because I see no way that we have a chance to win, and I will stick to what I said last weekend and not watch the game live. It will be recorded and if we somehow pull the unthinkable, I will watch it later tomorrow night.
I would love nothing more than to have a game plan on offense of starting Maurer or holiday at quarterback with a game plan to almost exclusively run the football in the first half. Bama has been very susceptible upfront, and we have been very good with run blocking. I say line it up and try to run the ball the entire first half with an occasional pass sprinkled in. If they start stacking in the box, then go play action and try to hit something over the top. If that is working well, then stick to it in the second half. However, be ready to change quarterbacks to Bailey if they make the necessary adjustments with the second game plan fitted for him. I know it is a lot, but I think we have to score with them to have any chance. Also, I think we have to shorten the game significantly and keep their offense off of the field. I don’t see it happening, but I would love nothing more than to check the score and see that the game ended with us having more points than them, and get to watch it tomorrow night. If it goes the way that we all suspect and are worried it will go, then it will be deleted.
