‘23 Recruiting Forum: Official Alabama Pregame/Game Thread

How many active coaches have a championship?

Dabo, Saban, Smart. Mack Brown from 100 years ago. Jimbo who is on the hot seat anyway.

Heupel is the best chance we’ve had at one since Fulmer began his decline. If he hits on another Hooker quality QB, some good WRs, and has a good defense, he has a good shot. Especially with expanded playoffs.
He makes way too many questionable in game decision. Teams are undisciplined. We aren’t recruiting like we need to offensively.

He’s helped us get back to beating average and good teams but we still have a ways to go to be elite and actually compete for titles

Just to let everyone know Houston only has 1 penalty for the entire game against TX. So I guess the refs are calling the game for them right?

I guess that is case closed, this was a fairly called game because we see it in the Houston game.

We deserved to lose the second half, but come on.

I don’t know why people are shocked. Two are on the road. I’ve always thought 9-3 was probably the record this year. We’ve been lost in the wilderness for 15 years, so we have to use some logic with expectations.
It’s shocking because we had a golden opportunity to beat Bama and should have beaten UF. But we didn’t. In both games Heupels play calling, Milton and poor execution were the main issues. Officiating was bad in both games but we had opportunities to overcome that and we didn’t.

There is zero excuse for Florida. They are a bad football team

I mean heck just look at our screen passes by Joe. Screen passes are literally supposed to be in your hands and then out.

Every screen pass in the 2nd half took over 2 seconds to throw.

Didn’t mean it that way. Officiating was bad but it was not the main factor in us getting dominated in the second half. I am sick of seeing some of our fans thinking every time we lose that it’s the refs. It’s not.

There were plenty of instances where we were bad that had nothing to do with the horrible officiating.

I understand that but do you not think momentum and confidence play a part in success? The first two possessions they missed an egregious headlock hold in the open on Barron on the TD and then the BS fair catch call that put us at the 3 yard line. Our secondary should have covered the guy but that’s a penalty and the fair catch was a phantom call. Do you think a better start would have changed the way we played or called the game?

I mean the refs kept Milroe off the turf. They are the reason for the first TD pass by Bama. Minus the fact our Safety let someone run right by him

That’s also on the QB, the QB is supposed to check out of that
Why you covering for the Birmingham Office officials, bruh. Severe BVS? Or just want to hate? I don't see why you cover for them. Well, actually I predicted people would, and how it would happen. But still.

No one was going to beat those officials today. No one in the world.

It didn't matter what we did or who was at QB. They would have just thrown a fake flag.
