I've come to the conclusion Pruitt is way over rated as a defensive coordinator. He's coached teams that always had the best players available. He's not had to scheme much. Hell, everyone knows that the slant pass is our achilles heel. He has a bye week to work on things. We still can't cover a slant. He's as much of a head coach as Guarantano is a QB.

I don’t know what’s happened this year, but it was apparent his first year that he generally knew what was coming on defense.

Bama’s poor defense this year shows that just any DC isn’t successful. I know a Bama fan that would welcome him with open arms.

Pruitt is too smart for his own good. He's the type that is always right. His roster/player management has been horrible.....

I noticed this is a recurring theme with almost all of Saban/Belichek disciples.
They have the arrogance of their mentors without carrying the coaching cache

Pruitt is not the guy. We've seen this too many times before....we know when it's not the guy. Let's cut our losses and actually pony up for an experienced HC that knows how to win.

There’s a really good one at a small program named Liberty. He even has SEC coaching experience.

True. That decision was very marginal either direction. You have to get a TD 1 of the 2 drives regardless and that was reasonably close. And that is just to go into a 50/50 OT. Best case scenario is 2 TDs like vs Indiana and avoid a 50/50 OT altogether.

Overall development certainly seems most problematic. No position deserves an award at this point sadly.

Meh. Our defense wasn't all world last year. When he can coach to stop a slant maybe I'll change my opinion.

It’s ok to disagree, but ask Cole Cubelic what he thinks about Pruitt on defense. I prefaced it that this year something is off.

When all of our guys were healthy last year, the defense was good. BYU was on the offense, and Bama was a good game.
