Akron is brutal. Same conference as BGSU except BGSU may win the MAC. Akron is about the 6th or 7th best team in the conference at best.
I feel pretty good about what we saw. I don't think the defense regressed or anything. Seems like BGSU just flat out executed almost perfectly on those deep pass plays. Their QB was really frigging good. Also a lot of confusion due to Martinez being out.
OL looked great. Dobbs looked solid. Running game was great. Malone looked better. Jennings was good. Kelly is a great third option at RB.
Medley needs to get his **** together, though. Awful showing by him.
BG receivers were catching EVERYTHING! Watch again, some were great catches in tight and double coverage. Some were blown coverages as well.
Roger Lewis went to Ohio State before BGSU
Robbie Rhodes #1 WR in Texas and went to Baylor prior to BGSU
Ronnie Moore was about to go to Cincy and play for Butch but Butch took the UT job obviously. He was literally about to get on his flight to his Official at UC when he got the news.
They have offensive players. Only 1 or 2 teams on our schedule can throw it like that and thats with them included.
Can only hope our DL was being extra vanilla to keep the good stuff off film. Don't know of it was Dobbs or WR but pass game was bad against a bad defense. Thomas went from worst OL to maybe best. OL looked so much better. Secondary needs to get it together, but little to no pressure from DL didn't help. If we threw everything we had at them, we're in for a long year. I'll be optimistic and say we kept the playbook pretty well closed for next week. Holding steady at 9-3.
