Shutout was nice. And wasn’t an accident, but this was not a good defense most of the year. We have to make a drastic jump. Hopefully light came on for Herring.

I think the OL is not very good, they’re pretty good; but Nico is to blame for some sacks and there were some odd plays where I’m not sure the QB and skill guys were on the same page. That will get better. And Heupel is too good of a play caller to let him get destroyed.
Herring looks good against inferior (slow) competition. He gets torched by good teams. We need somebody to beat him out in the starting lineup sooner than later in the 2024 season.

Joe doesn’t look like he’s having fun at all..just going through the motions
In that one shot there...he looked happy all during the game...you think maybe he was just feeling a little sad right then because he just realized it was the last time he was going out on the field with the team?

Correct, against fast backs he ain't gonna cut it

3 OL were out...but I agree that it is an issue because we will have injuries again next year..it's inevitable, so we have to have a couple of somebody's step up and provide quality depth and do better than they did today in pass pro.
Most of the sacks today were on Nico, not the OL. He has to learn to throw the ball away if nothing is there. It was good that he got this experience today. It gives him the entire off-season to work on that.

Yep, he has said many times that he loved being at UT and would miss it. Think he was in a tough spot and handled it well.

lol no most of the sacks the pocket collapsed way too soon. Nico coulda had one or two he coulda thrown away but the oline was abysmal in pass blocking

lol the oline you see today ain’t the oline we have next season. The secondary finally has talent in it. LBs have some young stud potential. So yeah we better be in. Or there was failure to develop the young talent at the secondary and LBs or we were ravaged by injuries.
The oline I saw all year isn't good enough to say we should win 10 games.

Great win. None of us thought we would be that dominate. Dominate Orange Bowl win in year 2 and even more dominate Citrus Bowl win in year 3?? The future is extremely bright on Rocky Top.
Is there any particular reason that nobody on Volnation seems to realize that the word “dominate” is a verb? The adjective is “dominant”. I see this error on here constantly. I haven’t commented on it until now, but it’s like nails on a chalkboard to me.

They were injured all year, maybe if you actually had some positive context to your comments there would be a better discussion. Do we need to grab an OL from the portal? Yes, Does our starting OL suck when healthy? No…remember context is your friend

"Nobody"?

I think that's pretty unfounded given how well we ran the ball. 36th in sack rate isn't great but not terrible either.

The anchor of the offense in my mind was QB before Bru went down, and WR after Bru went down.

Even today, at least half those sacks were coverage sacks with nobody open. I don't see Webb and Nimrod having a bunch of playing time if they are still around in the Fall. At least not unless they take a big jump.
