Not the point of my post. I'm not saying Tennessee is devoid of talent. My point is he's not used to working with less talent. I don't think he's got the ability to "Coach them up".
I was going to say: well they damn well better be "a staff full of [miracle working] recruiters" this year. Because how ever are we going to bring home a good class this year? But then I noticed that that conclusion contradicts your conclusion that "You don't need that at Tennessee." ??? Whatever happens, we'd better hope they do what, rightly or wrongly, they were brought in to do this year, against the odds.Oh i completely agree. That’s where i think this whole “staff full of recruiters” is a mistake. You don’t need that at Tennessee.
But there is more that goes into this. His players are better than the leftovers with the exception of Smith, Bituli, and a couple others. He’s also been forced to play almost every true freshman because this roster is terrible. Nobody does that unless you just don’t have a choice. That’s why I’m so torn on this whole thing. The only thing I’m sure of is that JG shouldn’t step on the field again unless both other guys go down. And honestly, I’d almost bet there’s a walk on better than him...NAILED IT. This is 100 percent right on.
That said, I do not believe, unless someone can persuade me otherwise, that Chaney has been trying to play the freshmen QBs and Pruitt keeps overruling him.But there is more that goes into this.
