Still think Fulmer taking over for 2 years is best bet. Keep Chaney, being in Kevin Steele on DC. Solidify program and then hire that guy.

Give Cutcliffe this offensive line - and theoretically Harrison Bailey - and that offense is legitimately good next year.

Fulmer did not have a good track record of hiring coordinators when he was HC. Most of his coordinators were internal promotions (Cut, Chavis , Sanders) and when he went external, we got the Clawfense . Seem CJP is not helping his track record.

I was going to say: well they damn well better be "a staff full of [miracle working] recruiters" this year. Because how ever are we going to bring home a good class this year? But then I noticed that that conclusion contradicts your conclusion that "You don't need that at Tennessee." ??? Whatever happens, we'd better hope they do what, rightly or wrongly, they were brought in to do this year, against the odds.

But there is more that goes into this. His players are better than the leftovers with the exception of Smith, Bituli, and a couple others. He’s also been forced to play almost every true freshman because this roster is terrible. Nobody does that unless you just don’t have a choice. That’s why I’m so torn on this whole thing. The only thing I’m sure of is that JG shouldn’t step on the field again unless both other guys go down. And honestly, I’d almost bet there’s a walk on better than him...

Absolutely. I was so excited when Maurer came in. And he needed a whole half. And he should have been running a two-minute offense at the end for the experience.
