It’ll take the doomsday scenario, i.e., 1-11/2-10/3-9, but Fulmer could make a change if he wanted to.
It might take getting a solid yes from the replacement beforehand.
I made this point in another thread, but given the popularity of the transfer portal, I could very easily see Pruitt recruits transferring out if we can him. Guys like Toot, and Wanya, and DW, and Grey. They easily could go to other teams, leaving us even more devoid of talent.
That’s the whole thing. If fulmer approaches thunder and Haslams and says “________” wants the job but it will take this Much to get rid of Jeremy and this much to get new coach. I think it happens.
Good thing too Pruitt will definitely get a high paying DC job somewhere if not a head coach somewhere small
Why will they agree to open up those purse strings this time? They haven't the past few searches, so why now? That’s the whole thing. Pruitt has done a good job of keeping some top in state talent at home.
They're getting clock on a losing team with no guarantees of a turnaround if a new coach is hired. They're talented enough to get clock on much better teams. I think they would need more motivation than getting clock.Nah. Bc they are getting clock. That’s most important. Not guaranteed if you leave.
Didn’t we have different President and an AD hell bent on bricking over brick? That brick budget was more important than results. Also they knew our dumbasses would keep showing up regardless of the $#!+showWhy will they agree to open up those purse strings this time? They haven't the past few searches, so why now?
The Haslams actually liked Curry and they didn't exactly open up those purse strings for him. It's my understanding their relationship with Fulmer is strained.Didn’t we have different President and an AD hell bent on bricking over brick? That brick budget was more important than results. I've been told the big money guys have been skeptical of the leadership in the administration and the athletic department. I think some of that has dissipated but since Fulmer made the last hire, he has a chink in his armor. Boosters expect some return from their investment and they've not been getting that. They didn't get money by making stupid financial decisions. I think the only way a change is made is if fulmer was to take a coach to a group of boosters that would be an easy sell. If I were fulmer I would be having some back room meetings with potential coaches over the next few weeks. Contingency planning should be at the top of coach fulmers list. It may not be this year but I don't think Pruitt last beyond last beyond next season. Why will they agree to open up those purse strings this time? They haven't the past few searches, so why now?
