I love it, but I think this might be why we have such a mental block beating them. We hype this game up so much every year and psych ourselves out, prepare things like this just for this game, and put so much pressure on the players that they seem to not be able to perform up to expectations.
i think it's got more to do with the fact we should be excited to be playing in games like this instead of worrying about any of the stuff you mentioned.
it may not happen often, but we have beat these guys. and it takes players making plays. be excited to be THAT guy....like Travis Stephens was. Like Casy Clausen was.
you don't beat Florida or win any big game by thinking otherwise.
move all that clutter out. see yourself doing it. go do it.
for a very long time, i believe there was a mental block for htis program. i don't beleive it today. this coach doesn't. this staff doesn't. and a good portion of this team now has no frame of reference of what it is to lose to FL. in fact they were brought here to win games like this, and they should expect to.
fans....well, we've been here, at least any of us older than the age of 35, thru pretty much each and every loss since 1990. so there's trepidation, angst etc.....
fine. but if we're going to start winning more in this series, someone, somewhere, has to start believing it's at least possible.
eff the hex. eff florida. errbody sick of losing. go take it out on them this weekend.
