'20 Recruiting Forum: Official Gator Bowl Pre-game/Game Thread

The defense played well in the first half up until the end of the 2nd Qtr when they started losing contain on Ramsey. Then he ran wild all over them for the entire 3rd qtr. I was losing my mind every time he took off down the field and nobody was spying him. Then they mostly fixed their mistakes in the 4th qtr, when it really mattered.

Overall, I was proud of their resilience and overcoming diversity, but I thought they could've played much better than they did.

Well, if we knew how to run the ball when inside the red zone, we could have had a 14-0 or 21-3 lead and blown the game open.

Chaney is a terrible red zone OC.

Lol. Even I could see that it was JG not the play calls.

But Chaney has seen how JG can not execute when passing in the end zone. He can not read through his progressions and he is not very accurate in his throws. How many corner shots has he overthrown this year in the end zone? I don't think OB,jr. could have caught most of those. On one corner shot last night he overthrew badly and didn't even see Gray wide open on the 5 yd. line in the flat.

Our starting QB had a QBR of 15.5. Cannot blame the OC for that lack of execution.

Yet here we are responding to one that did. All he had to do was throw catchable balls, you know the kind that QB's at P5 schools throw all the time. But here we are after 3 years of starts going what the ...

You could argue that a good red zone OC would realize his QB has a 15.5 rating and stop calling so many pass plays, which is what he did later in the game.

First redzone trio doomed the game to what it ended Up being. Run 4 times behind trey. We would have scored

they made some adjustments that got our LB's out of the middle of hte field, forced them to cover.....we finally adjusted and basically spied him. but by that time, we were in scramble mode trying to play catch up.

but you have to give that staff credit for the adjustments they made in the second qtr. they were NOT going to beat us straight up...our defense was all over everything the were doing for basically the entire first half until that last drive, and the 1st drive of the 3rd qtr....when they got Ramsey more involved with the run game.

they're biggest mistake was the clock management at the end of the 1st half. had a time out and didn't take it and spiked it with 3 seconds....they had enough time for a play to the end zone with that time out.

our mistake was at the end of the game when we iced their kicker....IU was going to burn their last time out there!!! anyway.

it was a helluva game....

Did you notice our staff figured out Indiana wasn’t covering the middle of the field on the two RB passes to the middle of the field. Thought that was a good adjustment for us by the staff on the fly.
