'22 Recruiting Forum: Official Georgia Pregame/Game Thread

AR and BY had career days against us, We still won. Now, our secondary is healthier and playing better. We have rotated in so many guys that the depth is there. SB is not BY. They are not the same at all. SB can be baited into mistakes. He is quick, not fast. His arm is OK, but nothing like BY. If the d-line maintains their lanes and contain, he could be in for a long and painful afternoon.

Our LB's have enough quickness and speed to match up with their TE's. Have them play underneath with safety help over top. Makes the throws more difficult for SB.

UGA has great talent. But they are not a speed team - speed in tempo or speed at the skill positions. That gives our coaches the opportunity to scheme and play call well. Stop the run, stop the TE's - stop UGA. We have already proven we can do that successfully.

Kirby is a quality D coach. Is he better than Saban and Stoops? Nope. Heup is an O genius. Good luck with that Kirby. You are going to need the help of the zebras and us turning it over.

I keep coming back to what many have posted, the schedule. Smoking a quality opponent at home in the first game with no other quality wins is not nearly as impressive as battle tested wins over 5 top 25 opponents at home and on the road with one being Bama - the equivalent of a UGA. Sorry, one win over an Oregon team at home doesn't move the needle for me.

UGA won it all last year, but they lost once badly to Bama in the process. They then shipped off a boat load of players to the pros, especially on the D that won them the natty.

I also keep coming back to the preparedness of the team and coaches. They approach each game the same way. They know that if they do what they should do they will win. Cedric is the X factor. He is our version of Bowers for Hooker. But how do you scheme a D to prevent Jalin, Bru, Princeton, RBs, etc. from carving you up as well? Hooker has confidence in all of them. He distributes the ball the way Heup wants based on the reads the D gives him at the LOS.

We will soon learn if the Birmingham will allow another program in their club this season or not.

I'm thinking, yes. They see the national sensation the Vols have become and want the dollars and attention that comes with it. They know there is Bama and UGA fatigue. Introducing another elite option only helps the SEC overall, especially when they know all eyes will be on the game like they were in the Bama/Vols matchup. They call it fairly and as a result,

Vols 45
Puppies 27

In addition to all of the sound reasons you cited, Big Orange fans should ask themselves one simple question: WHO IS HUNGRIER FOR VICTORY, the defending national champion or this group of upperclassmen who have experienced more in terms of losing than they can stomach? Now that they have begun to win consistently and convincingly, our orange-clad warriors are becoming addicted to that sensation and are feeding off of it, drawing additional strength from each victory.

Let’s not forget that we still have a shot at the playoffs if we do lose. Hope that keeps our guys playing loose and going all out.

They’ll be ready. This is when it pays to have an older, experienced QB, especially one who is as mature as HH. Hostile environment. Big game.

I expect the Vols to play well.

Now go back and adjust all those damn stats to reflect facing 5 ranked opponents vs 1...

Do your homework or don't do it at all.
I was a lot more nervous until I considered their results against their schedule. I still think they're a good team. Not sure they're better than Bama. And with Stetson back there instead of BY, I think we get pressure that the QB can't miraculously neutralize like Bama did.

What Georgia should do is go tempo and try to extend this game as much as possible. Play the percentages and just crush us with depth and fresh legs in the 4th.

I don’t know Kirby has it in him though. I’m also not sure they can trust Bennett that much.

Anyway… The insecurity among grown men that bark at children is at an all time high this week. I’ve never seen a team that is a 11 point favorite, ranked #1, and picked to win by every media outlet I’ve seen so far pull the “we are being disrespected” card before.

Any guesses on how long before they have a “don’t storm the field this weekend, it’s embarrassing” post on their forum?

If Georgia tries to match tempo or do anything close to it they’ll be sinking fast.

Their best bet is to slow this game to a crawl grind it out and take the Tennessee offense out of it.

That is such a catch-22 for opposing teams, because what UT wants to do is score fast and often, get a couple of more stops against you than you do against us, and make you work hard to move the ball between the 20s. They want to score fast and make you bleed clock so you have less of that clock (and less possessions) to make up the point deficit we've built.

In effect, other teams' best hope is to do what we plan to make you do.
